San Francisco Giants

stevesplace,

Somebody is blasting firecrackers. I say firecrackers. I think I heard a fuse. A half-dozen or so. Firecrackers for Juneteenth? Is this a tradition?

M-80's I think. The first one freaked me out.

I'm expecting cops. I think we're up to about 10 now. 11. Oh, and the won again. Beat the 7-4.

brentk,

@stevesplace
That fireworks are still available in America is representative of how messed up this country is.

stevesplace,

"Whatever he's looking for, apparently a fastball down the middle of the plate wasn't it!" - the incomparable Jon Miller

stevesplace,

The beat the in L.A. again, this time 7-3.

This is hilarious! The lackluster season is partially blamed on , a Filipino card game similar to Poker. (Other news reports are saying the culprit is Pusoy Dos, which is a completely different game.) ♠️♥️♣️♦️

“...a near-zealotry to Pusoy, a Filipino card game that Joc Pederson and some other Giants players appear to find more compelling than studying the night’s opposing starting pitcher.”

stevesplace,

After winning 3 games in a row, the exhausted lost, 4-1 to the . Logan Webb took the loss, he being the worst-supported starting pitcher in , as Jon Miller is fond of reminding us.

I shall be searching for my sackcloth.

stevesplace,

Yesterday, in a game announcers thought was a must-win, the lost to 6-5. Today, in the game yesterday's announce team was thinking was unwinnable, they won 4-3. Let's hear it for prognostication!

stevesplace,

The are behind again. Guys, swoons are for June, not August.

stevesplace,

Heard an interview with Jon Miller today on Mad Dog Radio.

The have been running with what he called "a 2-starter rotation." Because of injuries, the other starters really haven't gotten their pitch counts back up, so it's 2 starters & a pool of relievers. I wondered what was up with that. Their hitting went south other than Wilmer Flores as the rest went into simultaneous slumps they can't seem to shake.

They'd be one of the most dangerous teams in if either wasn't happening.

stevesplace,

The are up 8-3 and for some inexplicable reason, Doval is coming in from the pen. Did everyone get too excited while the runs were scoring & forget to warm up someone else? It's not a save situation. Maybe he needs work.

stevesplace,

The fans are just letting know how much he'd enjoy them cheering every exploit, even in the lowly Los Angeles suburb of Anaheim.

stevesplace,

The were down 2-1 to the as the top of the 7th starts and J.D. Davis smashed a HR. "Had the sound, had the look, and got out of this ballpark by plenty." That got the fans cheering and they got into a "Let's go, Giants" vs. "Let's go Angels" battle with the local fans. I heard "Let's go Giants," but the weak response... it was so sad.
