I'm thinking that noticing the many similarities between Labour and the Tories misses the most important thing, the fringes.

Don’t get me wrong, I will probably cave at the last minute and vote SNP again for a number of reasons. Mostly, being supportive of a number of their progressive policies that I have benefited from over the years, and also because my constituency is a two horse race between them and the Tories who I will never vote for. Though...
Unhinged. Labour wrecked Birmingham....
I was just thinking about the way the British constituiton works. I know that it is in the hands of the PM to decide when Parliament is to be dissolved and a GE is to be called. But if a majority in Parliament wanted a snap election yet the PM was refusing to call one, then couldn’t they just pass a bill declaring an early...
Anyone know what he is going on about and why this is suddenly worth a speech at 5:45 on a Friday night?
Sorry if this is the wrong place for this, It seemed pretty specific but I also understand if this is more a news sub....
Hi all, doing a survey for a school assignment, it’s on benefits of, and if we should abolish the monarchy. It’s pretty short but give as much detail as you want :) And please only respond if you either live in the UK or are a UK citizen, thanks...

Why do the Conservative Party keep putting up absolute loons for London Mayor? Theyve put up morons at every election since my first one in 99/2000, and continue to do so. Red Ken wiped the floor with a handful until he got more than he bargained for in Boris, and then Shaun Bailey whos now a Lord, put up possibly the worst...
Leaving aside the squeaky indignations of our inadequate prime minister, and the frankly boring questions by the opposition leader. what exactly is the purpose of this braying, deluded clown show? We don’t get anything of use, we don’t get anything except question avoidance and grandstanding followed by someone shouting...
The European Court of Human Rights is hugely important. From the right to an education to the right to vote, it covers and protects all aspects of our lives. The idea of losing it cause of some lies about “boat people” is terrifying and the effect on our lives untold.
Give it up for the new week!...
What is in store for us this time?...
Might as well have one of these to survey the chaos that is our political system....
I’ve been loving the Private Eye podcast, but they only seem to do about one episode a month. I sometimes listen to The Rest Is Politics but I find it quite hard not to hate Alastair Campbell and Rory Stuart....
I was watching an old episode of Have I Got News For You and a David Cameron promotional site was mentioned so I checked it out. His people must have let the domain name expire as it’s now a spam blog called David Cameron Journalism....
Not sure if you guys are familiar with this or not, but there is a great mailing list that lays out what votes are happening in Parliament every week. It's a great resource so check it out....
