Mastodon is awesome, when you block someone, they disappear from your reality, you no longer have to see their posts and comments, and they can't see yours. They're simply gone.
This doesn't work the same on Lemmy/KBIN where the "block" feature is simply a mask, where you can't see whomever you "block" but they can see, and comment on your posts or comments with no way of preventing them. On KBIN there are entire instances which even this reduced "mask blocking" doesn't even work, and gives you an error
"Mask blocking" is rife for abuse, as those who post in bad faith can have at your posts and comments with no way of preventing it
Blocking doesn't seem to be high on the list of priorities for Lemmy/KBIN, like, at all, which is a shame
