I really like the valley station bridge. It's quiet enough to be a safe place to build up, but also very close to a lot of good looting and action. Not to mention, the wrecked cars on the bridge offer a great source of training mechanics. There's a mechanic's shop really close by to the south, and with some luck, everything you need to get your first car up and running can be found here.

I'm also nostalgic for this settlement, as it's the first place I properly built up with my friends in MP.

The LOS changes look amazing! For what it's worth I hope they stay noticeable rather than blurry, it might be less immersive but it's definitely valuable information that shouldn't be gamified too much. I'd even want to try something extreme like having it fully grayscale if its out of sight!

The modding things might put the Mod Manager mod out of business, eh? It's probably a good thing, I just hope they got a lot of good ideas and inspiration from it, it was invaluable so far.

I agree. There's a ton to be excited about with build 42, but the engine upgrades continue to be my favorite part about them, including the LOS improvements.

I'm also very happy to see them so open to customizability. It looks like, given what they said in the post, there will be multiple settings for LOS. I'll probably use the more defined LOS setting like you mention, but if someone wants to max out immersion, then it looks like they will have that option too.

I'm waiting to see them drive a car around with a resolution greater than 1080. That's one of the worst parts of playing zomboid right now imho, it looks so choppy if I don't take Sunday driver when I'm on my monitor. The FPS improvements seem very promising.

I'm not that good at the game, I always tend to go back to my familiar newbie spot which is the Muldraugh warehouse in the north-eastern part, next to the road. There's a gas station nearby, it's easy to protect the upper floor and you can farm on the roof too. I once fortified a house slightly in the woods, not a lot of zombie activity but got kinda bored constantly driving back and forth to get there.

Na, definitely felt that with other games though. Best way to deal with it I've found is pretty much the same as burnout, Making runs with custom settings (for example all sprinters) or installing a bunch of mods works pretty well. The insurgent mod with the susceptible trait mod is a pretty good combo.
