Prosperity preachers have a bad reputation. And, it is usually rightly deserved. For they devour the wealth of the vulnerable.

But, I almost never even hear that as an objection. Nearly 100% of the time I hear "God isn't your piggy bank!" or "God isn't a gene that is here to grant your every wish" or "You need to stop being lazy!"

The arguments against the prosperity preachers, is always an appeal to pride.

I don't think the objectors to a prosperity doctrine, have even read Deuteronomy 28. It was a purely materialistic appeal from God to men.

The people in the Bible, who developed a relationship with God, were all taken care of materially.

The material care people imagine for themselves in Heaven, is just closer proximity to God. But, it should start here.

If God is taking care of the flowers of the field, and the birds of the sky, but not you? Something is wrong!

As always the solution is the same, talk to Jesus, get your truth from Jesus. Get your provision in this life from Jesus.

@gabriel Believe it or not, but, Jesus kept most of the truth in the world hidden, until I knew Him, and what He had done for me.

The shock waves that ripple through the world on a daily basis, terrify those who are not being upheld.

If it were not for Jesus, then I would feel the weight of a dying world crushing down on me. But, instead my heart is light, and joy crowns my days.

The creator of all, thinks we, His friends, are a great treasure, and He will uphold us, and preserve us, and deliver us from this evil world.

Now, is not a time for sadness. The sadness is a lie, it is a lie that we must accept it. Jesus has made a way for all to be saved. Though few will even dare talk to Him.

@gabriel recently I've realized that, consuming online material will become more and more damaging.

Platforms like X, youtube, twitch, and tiktok, will become exponentially more cursed. Their addictive hold, and soul rot will increase.

By and large, I've noticed most people, even here, NEVER develop the ability to reject poisonous content. They just eat it like everyone else, but then complain about it afterwards.

The things they are eating right now, are hurting them, taking away their peace, keeping them in delusion. And, it is going to get so much worse.

I'd tell them they need to stop watching new content all together, if I thought they had the wisdom and self control to benefit from such advice xD

A corner stone is how bought into the paradigm everyone has become. I see several of my mutuals, race to be the first one to bring, straight up, propaganda from other platforms here xD Something about evil information, fills people with excitement, and they can't wait to share it with others.

This is a false perspective. There is only an illusion of meritocracy in place. Just enough, so that popular content, and the starts of what qualifies as popular content has an air of legitimacy.

Numbers are meaningless. Comments or endorsements from people you don't know are meaningless. Right now, all that stuff is managed, controlled, curated by the people who want shape how you think.

Looking at this another way, there is no entry, because you cannot earn your place. The places are given to people who are spreading the correct ideas.

I have found some of the best youtube channels, but they are all stuck a a few hundred views on their videos. And, if you leave a comment for them with any truth in it, youtube filters it and they never see it.

As far as I can tell, the only real path, is promoting your uncompromising truth. And, treasuring the 0-3 people who offer their impersonal affirmation, but don't comment xD

There is this sort of Pavlovian training that I see people under go. They are desperate to talk about something that "people care about". And so, they jump between content ideas and delivery methods. Constantly re-inventing themselves. Until, one day they hit on something, that is either directly boosted, or something people have been conditioned to accept.

They don't realize it, but, they have become an extension of the mind control apparatus they were trying to reject. They have contorted themselves into a cog, to do the bidding of the machine. And, their content becomes meaningless.

The current state of Vtubers is a great example, they ALL push terrible ideas. I don't think people even realize how damaging it is to them, to let someone form a parasocial relationship with them, and then vomit modern ideals into their soul for hours at a time.

Are there really no vtubers who are uplifting? Once again, a false meritocracy paradigm, there are, they are just suppressed and not promoted.

People keep trying to "break into" a field, that is completely synthetic. There is no breaking in, there is only conforming.

I am not sure I captured the essence of what I was trying to say. So let me try a TL;DR

"All platforms are infected with fake user affirmation, which guides content creation."

How often have I heard that, "I want to talk about X, but most people watch my content for Y". Or "I know I need to talk about X, but that would cause problems for me, and all the good I am doing".

Or, "I know Y isn't good, but it is what brings people to my channel! It is what the people want, and really I am just here to brighten their day."

They can't even see, that they are in chains already.

I'm not sure about that. I saw those social bonds get pulled on to compel people to be vaccinated. It caused many to become fully engaged in the lock down, even if they personally thought it was un-needed or stifling.

Even on our side of the internet, most people are operating with 1 truth and 9 lies.

I'm pretty sure that is why IRL communities aren't forming, at least, not to any scale. Because, everyone feels like a liability.

The true path requires walking with Jesus, and lots and lots of courage. And, when the people you have a bond with, begin to head down a false path, you've got to stand your ground, and keep on your true path. Even if it means that relationship will diminish.

I see most people, just giving in though.

This week is "suicide" week for intrusive thoughts.

I am see people IRL and on fedi, feeling trapped, like there is no way out.

If that is you, you should tell Jesus about your problems.

When you don't see a way out, when you are trapped and miserable. That, is when you need a savior, like Jesus.

Literally everyone needs to stop taking "vitamins" and other supplements.

Personally, the illusion was broken, when I had a few different kinds of "organic" vitamins, with different "ingredients" listed on each bottle. But, I could not tell the difference between them.

They tasted the same, they looked the same, they smelled the same.

Mind you, these were the best I could find at the time, from the most reputable company.

But, I was forced to conclude that, supplements ARE NOT what they claim to be. Not even close.

And, if they aren't even close, they are probably poisonous.

Vitamins, supplements, and enriched food. Are all things people need to stop eating, if they want to keep their health. (and since the last has turned out to be industrial waste, then the first two are probably as well)

If the covid vax wasn't enough for people to wake up, and realize that the FDA, and medically certified doctors are, in fact your enemy, and give advice to kill you, then I don't know what it will take to wake people up.

@gabriel Joe Rogan, is for sure playing for the other side. And, you can't make it to the national level like Tucker with out certain oaths. They are both more likely to be conduits for evil spirits than AJ.

Though AJ has a problem, he only seems to be able to create fear, and mixes lots of misdirection and lies into his content. But, he definitely closer to the light side than either Rogan or Tucker.

I feel like I need to say something.

Many of my mutuals are RCC or Ortho, or something else. Most of my friends here, hold theology that is mutually incompatible with my own.

But, all who know Jesus, are my brothers, our friendship will transcend life and death.

It does not matter if the Pope himself declares a Saudi Price the Messiah, and bows down to the man.

That is no more a reflection on my friends, than Joe Biden is a reflection upon me.

I have confidence, that if they are ever forced to choose between, Jesus, and their institution, if it ever truly comes to that, that they will choose Jesus.

For ANYONE who truly knows Jesus, will never be lost.

To some of you, I may be just some guy on fedi, but you wont even by able to escape my friendship even in death xD

I know very little about Nix, but this is an important point that needs more sunlight.

3. Company involvement
This point is what made me leave NixOS community. I worked for a company called Tweag, involved into Nix for a while and paying people to contribute to Nix and Nixpkgs to improve the user experience for their client. This made me realize the impact of companies into open source, and the more I got involved into this, the more I realized that Nix was mostly driven by companies paying developers to improve the tool for business.

Paying people to develop features or fixing bug is fine, but when a huge number of contributors are paid by companies, this lead to poor decisions and conflicts of interest.

@RustyCrab When I was in college, I was terrified by the future events, but nothing bad ever happened, I eventually learned that I was pure shit at predicting the future, and have since then often, just forgotten about concerning things in the future.

I recently had one come and go, and I can only laugh, because it took care of itself.

I've already wasted too much of my life worrying about the future, so I push others to abandon the future and forget about it xD

@gabriel As best as I can tell, we are a few years past the end of the road. The economy is artificial, and chines cooperation is artificial.

Things will continue, until the people who run the world are ready to make their final bid for, total despotic control.

There wont be a collapse before that, because they own most of the money, and most of the things. So, they can keep it alive for as long as they need.

@karna @binkle huh, I had assumed that, reference counting meant that you didn't have a separate gc event.

For example, every time you deference, and there for, decrement the counter, there was a check to see if it was zero.
