I skipped the PS4 gen to take a break and focus on other aspects of my life that needed attention, but was surprised at prices when I jumped back in. With how expensive gaming has gotten ($70 games, even more expensive consoles, required online payments to fully utilize systems/games, time investment to actually find a console before scalpers) I don't know what my future in gaming looks like.

Makes sense why there’s a “growing discussion” about not funding Ukraine from them
Probably, since GOP are greedy sleazeballs with none of Jesus's empathy for others - but them being in Russia's pocket is not the only factor. Financially Russia can continue the war for probably another decade without much damage to their economy. Ukraine not so much. Ukraine's only sustaining its war effort due to international financial assistance and the borrowing's ballooning their deficit, which they likely will never be able to pay back and will have to default on. There are other factors at play that could damage Russia's economy, like a drop in workforce, but for now it's a losing financial bet for any country to keep funding Ukraine's war effort. Ukraine needs to have some serious progress in retaking its territory within the next year or so and if they do not there's a good chance the war is over for them.
I'm merely playing devil's advocate btw. Republicans and Putin suck.
It seems like a lot of people underestimate companies' ability to be multifaceted machines. Diversification of a company's assets and abilities will always lead to a longer lifespan and happier investors, even if the public forgets about the biggest aspects of the brand. There's always the flipside though, where companies are mismanaged into total collapse without a backup plan, like WeWork.
I have a former best friend who still somehow finds a way to fanboy over Musk, despite the excessive information about him and actions he's taken. All very public and easy to find information, yet never swayed the guy's opinion and the last time we talked about it he was still fanboying. It really should have been a warning sign of things to come with that friendship. Truly, only mentally and emotionally inept losers are still on Musk's side and the former friend's the only person I know who still has a favorable opinion of Musk.
I hope we sometime soon move beyond discussing Twitter and its saboteur. There's so much more in tech happening than whatever headline he's trying to grab with his newest sabotage.

It's so wild Native Americans were performing controlled burns centuries ago. They were very aware of what nature could do and treated the land with respect and knowledge to sustain themselves and their environment... and in return they were given smallpox by invaders.
Thank you for the realistic take. Additionally, the country where this study originated, India, has rampant poverty and less cleanly habits than many other countries - on top of having really, really low vaccination rates.
One of the main reasons why COVID deaths were ever as bad as they were in the US was due to obesity rates being higher than other countries. You can't expect to have high levels of body fat and sustain yourself on Diet Coke yet still be healthy enough to manage severe illness.
It's wild to me that governments like Saudi, Malaysia, Russia, etc still are allowed by their people to exist, but conversely Republicans in the US are hellbent on making the government more like those violent regimes.

Researchers in heavily drilled Pennsylvania are adding to a body of evidence suggesting links between the natural gas industry and certain health problems.
Again, plenty to read and think about in the article; The research is coming from The taxpayer-funded research by the University of Pittsburgh, so doesn't appear to be funded by a company with an agenda, and the awful after-effects of fracking are not hard to find - even from accredited sources. The article does mention there's no definitive link quite yet, just correlation.
I have not seen Gasland, but documentaries should not be trusted as scientific fact as they tend to be extremely biased and often produced by non-experts for the sake of entertainment. One thing about the Gasland-debunker to note: I'm not going to do a deep dive on him, but he has an extended history with 3 companies well-known for covering up their contributions to climate change.

Zuck isn't even 40 years old and is fairly active with surfing and martial arts, as far as we know. Musk is over 50 and held together by plastic surgery and lies. They are both sociopathic tools but Zuck would clearly beat the shit out of Musk.
While Baldur's Gate 3 is being widely celebrated by fans and developers alike, some are panicking that this could set new expectations from fans. Good.
Yeah, seriously. When I purchase an indie game I expect it to differentiate itself with artistic vision more than 100 hours of gameplay I don't enjoy or have time for. So many of the 100 hour games are boring and bloated as hell at a certain point, e.g. Ubisoft games. Nintendo's new Zelda formula is the only open world gameplay style where I enjoyed the entire 100+ hours of playtime and I don't expect indie devs to produce fucking Zelda.
Aren't there a few super plausible theories on this these days? A middle of the night snow slab slide, avalanche or high winds and hypothermia seem to be the agreed upon reasons this could have happened.
