Hi everyone! Thanks for stopping by to check out this magazine about affordable and healthy eating. I'm really surprised it's grown to 100 subscribers within a week....
A few months ago, this concept of “p92” started leaking and it was rumored that Meta was joining the fediverse. Initially, not much happened with the discussion. I could run around and say “Nope, I’m not defederating” and no one really cared or challenged that position. I made it clear I advocate for user agency;...
I'm stickying this thread for minor discussions related to reverse engineering, including:...
The last few weeks have seen the ETH:BTC ratio slip, and people in /r/ethfinance have been getting upset about the Flippening getting further and further away....
The Malaysian government announced that it is filing a lawsuit against Meta Platforms for its purported failure to remove "undesirable" posts on the company’s popular social media platform Facebook. Enforcing accountability: In a statement released Friday, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission noted that it is...
I know on the discord there's a channel dedicated for linking to helpful documents and websites. It's a huge help, especially for people new to the community or the concept of nuzlocking itself....
One more post about how things are going inside the Fediverse now that #Project92 has joined the Fediverse. I have two ideas: One is that the Fediverse has ALWAYS had to make hard choices about things like this, but we’ve always found a way. We’ll do it again. The sky isn’t going to fall, and there probably won’t be a...
Everyone who’s into the fediverse concept should read this article.
Do you strictly interpret 'Brisbane' as the BCC area, or will you tell people you live 'in Brisbane' when you're just shy shy of Caloundra, Ipswich, or Toowoomba? I will always call Redcliffe, 'Brisbane', even though it was established long before Brisbane, but exclude Ipswich, but I don't have any good reason for either....
With the upcoming #meta #Project92 Fediverse service, this is a plan to fight smarter in how to both protect our users, and how to be better battle plan to protect the Open Social Web.

Meta Platforms Inc plans to end access to news on Facebook and Instagram for all users in Canada once a parliament-approved legislation requiring internet giants to pay news publishers comes into effect, the company said on Thursday.
I think we all can agree that the main thing holding back the growth of kbin and lemmy throughout all of the reddit drama is a lack of accessibility. Kbin and lemmy both capture the spirit of reddit in their style and userbase, but really lack the ease of use that led to millions of people adopting reddit. Looking at the trends,...
This is Fosstodon's official stance on the whole Facebook joining the Fediverse debacle.
I really don't know what the f is happening with the world.
On KBin we have the ability to add tags to posts. These can either be directly added using the “pound” sign octothorpe, as in #KbinMeta. You can also add tags using the “Tags” field when creating an article, link, or photo. The second method will append the tags to the end of the post when the post is federated....
Vision is to assemble materials from my courses, research and experience into a single repository.
Like most who’ve joined kbin or lemmy, I’m actively looking for more communities to subscribe to. We don’t have a way to do a centralized search for these across instances yet, so I’m sure there’s some I’ve overlooked. What smaller technology related groups have you discovered that could use more publicity?...
As the fediverse continues to grow, let's reflect on some of the things that we disliked most about posting/lurking on reddit and what we can do differently now that we have a chance to build something new.
Right now, the search capabilities we have for findings magazines aren’t great, and aren’t usually going to show communities on similar topics across instances. If people make lists of related communities and posted them here, I think it would help people find communities they are searching for.
It took me ages to work out the difference...
I made this magazine because I missed having a place like r/HumbleBundles to keep up with new bundles being released, and I couldn't find anything similar on Kbin....
Like Reddit's /r/netsec, I'd like to make /m/NetSec the primary Magazine for highly-technical and curated infosec content (e.g., in-depth vulnerability and exploitation write-ups)....
On desktop, click "Settings > show top bar (on)" to get a navbar at the top of the page that lets you easily sort between the default home feed, magazines you are subscribed to, and a list of random magazines to check out :)
Meta AI open-sourced the Massively Multilingual Speech (MMS) model, which supports automatic speech recognition (ASR) and text-to-speech synthesis (TTS) in over 1,100 languages and language identification (LID) in over 4,000 languages. MMS can outperform existing models and covers nearly 10x the number of languages.
