Just to be clear, it was an older woman (late 60s?) who spoke to me as though I were a teenager wasting her time and who was just plain wrong. Given her tone, I expected her to throw in a condescending “YOUNG MAN!” for good measure.

The punchline: this is the first time we ordered from her restaurant since before the pandemic because they gave us soggy salads several times in a row. 😂

People in this town are uncommonly stupid. Delivery person from a local restaurant (not DoorDash) called ro say she was knocking but no answer. Long story short: she walked through our yard to a walk-out basement door on the side, not in the main living space. She then kept arguing she delivered to that door before awhile back. She was quite annoyed when I told her she must be remembering another house because that door is SECURITY BARRED because we NEVER USE IT. 😂

If it doesn’t already, it should also have a big obvious Privacy Mode. That mode should TURN THE SERVICE OFF ENTIRELY (so there can be no accidental recording via bugs or misconfigurations) and require re-authentication to come back out of privacy / restart the service.

If shutting it down feels like overkill, I can tell you as a software engineer: it’s absolutely not.

Command-line-geeks:

WHAT option do I give to "tar" to tell it to remove all files that may exist in the directory path - such that it will remove files that are in the path that are NOT in the archive.

I backup my macports directory to a tar file prior to updating to the newest ports. SO if I need to revert, I want everything in /opt to be replaced with my tar file contents - and I want files in /opt that are not in my tar file to be removed.

Help? TIA! 🙏
