Mi sono sbarbato. Lo stile Karl Marx è incompatibile con il riscaldamento globale. Sorvoliamo sul fatto che secondo me avrei potuto raccogliere i tagli e farci un cuscino da divano. Mio figlio ha commentato: «non mi piaci senza barba, sembri un giovane con i capelli grigi.»

There are only ~40 million Black people in the US. Population similar to Lagos state in Nigeria (the tiny red part).

There are ~250 million US white folk (~220 non-Hispanic white + ~30 million Hispanic white).

So Biden's "missing" 10% of Black men, is fewer than 2 million. Or less than 1% of white US population.🤡

White voters don't face the massive systemic voter suppression that Black voters do. So increasing white dem turnout is much easier.

So if your boy doesn't win, blame yourselves.

@mekkaokereke and that's before even considering the extent of voter disenfranchisement and the total insanity that is the EC you have in the USA.

(Although with the EC I'm not sure how the respective ratios change. I'm completely uninformed on the subject but I get the impression that the racial distribution of the population is not uniform across the USA, so I wouldn't even be surprised that a white farmer vote from some state has more weight than that of a Black urban dweller in another.)

A dubious idea I have about cutting curved dovetails so a box would look like an impossible dovetail box, but would in fact have the top open on an arc rather than a diagonal slide like most impossible dovetails.
The axis of rotation is the left corner, where there's a green line.

In effetti me lo sono chiesto anch’io mentre recuperavo il materiale. E ho scoperto che la storia della trigonometria è un piccolo compendio di storia della matematica. Ho capito come la trigonometria non è nata sul piano ma sulla sfera (celeste); ho visto l’abilità degli antichi nel riuscire a costruire le prime tavole trigonometriche, dovendo inventare le tecniche per trovare dei valori non ricavabili geometricamente; ho scoperto che prima dei logaritmi sono state le funzioni trigonometriche a permettere di semplificare i calcoli (sempre celesti); mi sono divertito a vedere i simboli per seno, coseno e compagnia varia proposti da Lewis Carroll; insomma, più che le aride formule, ho cercato di mostrare il perché la trigonometria servisse. No, oggi possiamo farne a meno.
Nei giochi matematici mi sono occupato di dimostrazioni per assurdo; Sara Zucchini ha parlato di Gauss, che sicuramente di trigonometria ne sapeva visto che sapeva tutto…

@notiziole in realtà la trigonometria è nascosta in molte parti della geometria. Giusto per dirne una, il famoso apotema dei poligoni regolari con la costante magica che moltiplica il lato.
