IzzyScissor,

ahem The deity he follows says that he should turn the other cheek and not only allow it to happen again, but to happily and freely provide the opportunity. You can still call him hypocritical.

IzzyScissor,

“Well, it’s all bullshit, but as long as I’m in power, you have nothing to worry about” -every religious leader ever

IzzyScissor,

You can create a partition on your hard drive and set your PC up to dual-boot. I have no idea if this is still widely used or if there is another, better/easier way, but it’s what I did a long time ago for a hat simulator game.

IzzyScissor,

Or the technology for invisibility arrives before time travel so they were there, just undetected. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

IzzyScissor,

He was surprisingly good at creating devastating nicknames for people that would cut them down to a single flaw. A lot of his path wasn’t to be the best candidate, but to ruin everyone else’s reputations.

But now when he’s falling asleep in his criminal trial on almost a daily basis, it’s hard for quips like “Sleepy Joe” to have the same effect. Or when he’s asking for Biden to be drug tested before the debate when he’s the one with the White House that was referred to as being “awash in speed”. It’s always been projection, but he isn’t able to distract everyone fast enough anymore.

IzzyScissor,

This was the same reaction I had when the Covid vaccines were rolling out. “They haven’t been proven to be 100% safe and effective!” OK. Sure, but you know what is guaranteed to be bad for you? Covid. There are two choices here, and there’s a clear mitigation of harm with one option over the other.

It’s shocking that we’d rather see children die of treatable vitamin deficiencies than the off-chance that the food ‘might be unsafe’.

IzzyScissor,

I agree that those studies should be done. Studies should ALSO be done on people with unvaccinated covid infections, but we can’t do that on a large number of people, because they’re dead. The vaccinated people might have a ‘non-zero risk for blood clots’, but they’re still alive in the meantime.

IzzyScissor,

Completely agree. I understand that as of now, Queue has stepped down as a mod, but I hope that at such a time in the future where their mental health is better that they will return. The ability to say, ‘You’re right. I’m too stressed to properly do this right now. Here’s what I’ll do instead’ is incredibly appreciated.

That’s the kind of person I WANT as a mod, provided that they actually take the time to de-stress, reflect and come back as a better person.

IzzyScissor,

So, in the screenshot where it says it was “submitted by [deleted]”: I can’t be 100%, but I’m pretty sure that’s what it looks like when the post was deleted entirely. It wasn’t a ‘blank’ post. It was a rant against GIMP in the GIMP subreddit as someone else posted here.

IzzyScissor,

I remember the first time I went to an anime convention, and was SO EXCITED because they were going to host a DDR tournament!

Then I went into the room where the tournament was supposed to be held and almost died. They were routinely shutting down the room just to try to air it out, and were doing routine announcements of “I do not care if you think you do not smell. Everyone needs to go back to their hotel and shower before coming back. We are serious.”

I didn’t enter the tournament.

IzzyScissor,

“Protected more” is a meaningless metric. The threat of destruction is not eliminated with a one-time response, but they’re acting like it is.

I could get the same results by saying “I hereby threaten the entire planet with destruction unless I get a soda in the next few minutes.”

“Oh, I got one? I guess that means I saved the planet.

IzzyScissor, (edited )

No no, I get that US corporations ask for public land for privatized gains all the time, and keep increasing how much they ask for when they get it. The number of requests keeps going up, so the number of refusals going up isn’t shocking.

Did you realize that almost 11 million acres of the 12.8 million of ‘conservation’ were simply rollbacks from the Trump era to the Obama era? He had 2 years to so that, but waited until 2023. Edit:Source

My point is that it’s a single metric and out of context does not actually tell you why they were threatened to begin with. I.E. maintaining the status quo does not warrant a medal. Still voting for him.

IzzyScissor,

D- do you think this meme isn’t propaganda?

We’re allowed to call out BS in our politicians when we see it, even the ones we voted for and plan of voting for again.

IzzyScissor,

Cool. So it was the status quo, and just hitting ‘undo’. Why the meme portraying that as the greatest conservation act in history? It’s disingenuous.

IzzyScissor,

Sorry, let me try again:

“I’m a big greedy oil company and I want 10% of your public land.” “Ok. Here you go!” Meme: Biden gives oil company everything they want!

That would look bad, so instead we get:

“I’m a big greedy oil company and I want ALL of your public land.” “What!? No. You can only have 10%.” Meme: Biden saves 90% of public land!

But in this case it’s closer to:

“I’m a big greedy oil company and I want ALL of your public land.” Trump: “I’ll see what we can do.” 4 years later Biden: “Hey, can we cancel that?” Meme: Biden set to be greatest conservationist president in history, possibly time itself

You can skew stories dramatically when you focus on one detail.

IzzyScissor,

Sorry, I just realized - that quote you gave, claiming was in my sourced link… isn’t. I just re-read it and did multiple searches. After googling your quote, I found it on a separate doi.gov article. So, thanks for mocking me for something you didn’t check. You also highlighted that he had from 2021 as well, so I don’t even know why you’re using that as an argument. He still had 2 years.

But you’re right. When I saw that like 85% of the argument of this claim is for hitting ‘undo’, I assumed that the 2023 date was due to political delay for posterity, not political delay per the status quo. My bad.

IzzyScissor,

Do you think “the amount of conserved land for first-term presidents” is a metric ANY of us thought or cared about before this meme? What’s the point of it?

I was definitely triggered on how many qualifiers were needed for a single point of data to be extracted for comparison. *over *Public lands *in 2023

*On track to *more ____ than *modern *first-term

IzzyScissor, (edited )

Dude, THAT quote is in my link. Yeah.

In the Arctic Refuge, Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland has authorized the cancellation of the remaining seven oil and gas leases issued by the previous administration in the Coastal Plain. The leases were suspended in June 2021 following the issuance of Secretary’s Order (S.O.) 3401, which identified “multiple legal deficiencies in the underlying record supporting the leases.”

THIS ONE wasn’t.

Edit: OK, I see what you’re saying now, but you removed the OTHER hyperlink from that quote to make it readable, and there are no less that 40 links in this article. My apologies for not clicking through each and every linked article before responding. Jesus.

IzzyScissor,

YOU used that as a counter-claim that it was done 2023 because the leases were suspended in 2021… as a claim for 2023 being a record year? Obviously I’m not pre-researching potential counter-claims to my argument that don’t make any sense.

Now, to clarify, are you arguing that the 11 million acres were ACTUALLY protected in 2021 (making the meme false) or are you saying that he DIDN’T wait, but 2023 is the earliest it could have happened? Because in that case, it would seem like you should’ve posted something further along the timeline than from Jan 2021 to July 2021.

IzzyScissor,

Yes, he did step 1 in January 2021. It was resolved in July 2021. What THEN?

I’ve already admitted that I didn’t check WHY it was delayed and just assumed, but you’re coming at me like I should have this concrete knowledge that of COURSE it took until September 2023, ‘because see, I have proof from July 2021. Case closed.’

You assuming the government is working at its top speed of ‘incredibly slow’ and my assuming that the government is working at its exact speed of ‘wait until you can get votes out of it’ are neither proven nor disproven by the article you linked, meaning you’re just shouting a data point at me that has no bearing on literally anything. I’m trying to understand why you’re shilling so hard for this meme, when it is such a flimsy argument at best.

IzzyScissor, (edited )

Actually the ‘It’ I was referring to was the fact that Biden passed the Executive Order in January and then the Secretary of Interior passed the Secretary’s Order 3401. ‘Resolved’ may not be the correct terminology, but since you’re ignoring 85% of your own argument, it makes sense that you ignore 85% of mine.

The remaining seven leases held by the sole lessee covered 365,000 acres in the Coastal Plain.

Oh, also, those leases that you’re hyper-focused on account for less than half a percent of the conserved 10.6 million acres.

IzzyScissor,

You’ve routinely ignored the majority of my posts for insignificant details while ignoring giant glaring issues. 88% of your original argument is just hitting ‘undo’ from the worst president for the environment in history. (No i didnt fact check because you’ll just respond to it instead of the rest of this.)

The meme is bad and I’m sorry if it’s OC, because it reads like simping for Biden in a Trumpian way. There’s better propaganda.

IzzyScissor,

My nose was cut off, and this meme is acting like stapling it back on deserves a medal.

IzzyScissor,

We’re not talking about any project though. In your case, it’d only be like an unaffiliated project specifically trying to imitate a project David Attenborough has worked on in an attempt to mislead people to think it could be David Attenborough. There’s always room for parody, but you couldn’t sell your voice as the ‘Planet Earth’ voice.

IzzyScissor,

they didn’t claim this was Scarlett

The CEO tweeted ‘her’ on the day ‘Sky’ released. If it were a movie, the bad guys would be too dumb to be believable.
