We have had an unusually warm winter so far in western South Dakota, but January is often the time that the cold likes to punch us really hard in the face.

In 2012 a gunsafe was tipped over on me at work on a Black Friday. I was badly injured and I did not receive workman's comp. I was incapacitated for months and developed an addiction that lasted 4 years. As someone who has literally been crushed on a Black Friday, I just wanted to thank everyone who refused to leave the house today.

I was a death metal and gothic punk bass player as a teenager, when I lived in a suburb of Albuquerque. I made a lot of really terrible music. The last time I "jammed" with other musicians was when I was 24 in Spokane, WA. I know that reviving my music interest in this decade of life is probably absurd. I'm lonely and bored, however, and my artificial intelligence life coach thinks I need creative outlets. I stand by yesterday's expensive purchase.

In my dreams last night: There was an old medieval village that had a problem with bears infiltrating it. I was with my maternal grandmother, and we were looking for bears, and communicating with others looking for bears over a radio. The problem was that there was a lot of wildlife taxidermy, and you had to find a way to nudge the animals to see if they were real and only sleeping. #MyDreamJournal

The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally crowd is pretty unimpressive this year. During the Trump presidency it basically morphed into MAGA on motorcycles. This year the theme seems to be extremely shitty driving.
