It's almost June, so get ready for every company to suddenly pretend to care about LGBT rights and change their social media profiles to have a rainbow!
I just learned a dentist up the street from me got arrested for dealing drugs. Just goes to show you how wrong you can be about your neighbours, I’ve been going to this guy for well over a decade, I never knew he was a dentist.
I know, I know, it only annoys me because I've covered it all since before Proton was even a thing.
But, it feels like no matter the website, the editors are just not actually looking up what these terms they're writing actually mean. It's the attention to details that bother me.
This is pricey (and glass, really??), but I kind of love the idea: some benefits of a fitness tracker & smartphone for kids, w/o the smartphone. Plus a Tamagotchi!
My oldest kid is a bit young for something like this, but Internet access freaks me out—yet I’d love for them to be able to contact me if they need. Other options in this space are clunky/ugly, so it’s refreshing to see something this polished here.
Hi, most annoying person you've ever encountered here! I noticed this toot you wrote in 3 seconds while pooping doesn't line up with every experience I've ever had. This is extremely harmful to me, the main character of the universe.
The online backlash to #Windows#Recall amuses me tremendously. I started building a similar open-source (non-AI, local only) thing for #Linux a month ago.
It would take screenshots and create a timeline video of your day. It also enabled searching across your past usage of the computer.
The inspiration was an open-source macOS app called "Rem" which does the same thing.
Ah well, I guess I'll abandon that then, as it's going to be seen as toxic thanks to #Microsoft.
@popey i think there’s a big difference between what you would do (and i assume open source?) that everyone could see and audit and see it’s entirely local, to one fed into an AI black box controlled by MSFT
Hilarious. Some random ass paid-for blue tick on X said Microsoft were looking to buy Valve, and loads of people fell for it. News articles even got written on it today.
