Itโs not likely that the driver will be mainlined anytime soon, so no. Itโs the same as with the proprietary kernel driver, except maybe some being able to patch problems with newer kernel versions by themselves.
Does the webpage say anything about the extension being unavailable or something? I donโt know if stable Firefox has that one enabled. I use Nightly which had allowed all extensions for a long time and idk about Stable
