piyuv,

I’m also against proprietary systems but is there an open alternative?

piyuv,

Those phrases are not common anymore but once was very common, among the corpus the llm is trained on (mid 20th century books)

piyuv,

Kudos to the guy for doing stuff + it being FOSS, but I wouldn’t call him “great at designing social platforms”. Pixelfed is fediverse instagram, loops is fediverse tiktok

piyuv,

When you’re marrying someone you’re usually not like “lets try this and see where it goes” (that’s called dating), you’re more like “till death do us part” so yes, divorce is failure more often than not. Ending a relationship, not so much

piyuv,

I can’t bring myself to spend 200$ on it, no matter how many praises I read. It doesn’t matter that they’re including 20 games, they’re all pretty short and switch lite costs 200$. I believe I’d buy one around 100$, if I ever see a 2nd hand for that price

piyuv,

Imo its fine if they open source it when they decide to end support. The fact that app has a pristine privacy record is good enough

piyuv,

Can you post a link to that Apple story? I’d like to educate myself on it

piyuv,

I choose Apple because its the lesser evil. Going fairphone/postmarketos (or degoogled android) is too much trouble and I’m not that idealistic. I respect those who do, though.

piyuv,

Can someone tell me in which order I should play the games? I’m really confused with all the titles

piyuv,

Thanks, is the crisis core remake or original? Also where does remake intergrade fit in?

piyuv,

My free Dropbox account has 23GB of storage. They did this kind of stuff when starting out.

piyuv,

I paid €45 and played for 35 hours. Wanted to play more but waited for the new season, and then just didn’t get to it. I still want to play it though, but i wish i waited for it to come to game pass. When they said “not soon” i didn’t expect it to arrive in 2024.

piyuv,

After some time all the caves are the same though…

piyuv,

I’m very interested in your retention! Are you able to actually learn stuff?

piyuv,

Imagine 3 people, with different amounts of wealth. 1 of them will always be richer than the other 2 by definition. There’s nothing wrong with this.

The problem comes when richest has much much more than the poorest. There’s little problem if poorest has 1 and richest has 3. There’s a huge problem if poorest has 1 and richest has 1 billion.

It’s not about how we sort countries, it’s about how wealth is distributed.

piyuv,

I guess if he disabled auto upload captures to Xbox live he wouldn’t have been banned. Microsoft wouldn’t dare ban players for captures they only keep locally.

Still this is a huge fuckup from Microsoft, I hope they reverse this.

"If you tell a lie big enough and tell it frequently enough, people will eventually come to believe it". What is an example of this happening today?

I would really rather that these were actual examples, and not conspiracy theories. We all have our own unsubstantiated ideas about what shadowy no-gooders are doing, but I’d rather hear about things that are actually happening.

piyuv,

Free market is the most effective way of allocating resources

piyuv,

Overcooked may not have profanity but it certainly cultivates it

piyuv,

Do you have written sources for these? I’d like to educate myself but I can’t stand YouTube videos.

Why is everything in consumer / American life so fucking shitty now - and companies literally just say 'oh bc profit margins' and we're now expected to swallow that and sympathize?

like I went to taco bell and they didn’t even have napkins out. they had the other stuff just no napkins, I assume because some fucking ghoul noticed people liked taking them for their cars so now we just don’t get napkins! so they can save $100 per quarter rather than provide the barest minimum quality of life features.

piyuv,

No, this line of thinking is wrong, I wish people would stop saying this. Voting with your wallet never works when 1% has >50% of wealth. It’s easier for 5% of people (wealthy, top execs) to agree on milking the rest than 95% of people to agree on boycotting a certain brand. That’s why we have regulations, we wouldn’t need them if “voting with wallets” actually worked.

Free market capitalism got us to this point, it cannot take us out of this.

piyuv,

You mean well and I wish you were right, but capitalism proves you wrong time and time again. Remember when everyone cancelled their Netflix subscriptions and the company went bankrupt because they disallowed account sharing? Yeah, that was the sentiment on all social media.

piyuv,

I’m pretty salty its not available in EU
