What are some alternatives to bars that stay open late for folks that don't drink alcohol?

Bars are notable for staying open late, but I’m not really familiar with alternatives that might operate similarly. I think many cafés (at least around my area) tend to close a few hours earlier by comparison, which would be my go-to for an alternative otherwise, so what other options are there?

Pool halls. I think some bowling venues. Less common, we have a cafe full of hundreds (maybe thousands) of board and card games. They’re only open until 11pm, but that’s still a place to socialize and meet up with people at night.

    One of the top comment was a female user who said it made them uncomfortable because the same doesn’t apply talking about males (I used that word to avoid making the same error the complained of. I would have said lady or woman if I knew their age / that they aren’t a teen.)

    I thought about it a bit and other than when being fairly clinical (such as describing a suspect or patient), I realized that I don’t call men “males” in regular settings. True, I say “guy” more often than “man”, but that’s just because I’m very informal.

    The mod also said the ban was for arguing against feedback in a bad manner, not for the post title. I’m defending no one except the women who want to be called women.

    How the fuck can I kill 20 hours?

    My 13 hour flight just got delayed 7 hours, I’m stuck at my second airport, and I dont think I’m gonna make it. I have some movies and audio books on my phone, but really only anticipated having to burn the flight time via napping and some media, not 7 hours leading up to it, and I’m pretty sure I’m gonna mentally burn...

    I rarely play mobile games, but here’s one that I quite like when I need to kill time or be active while media is in the background: Auralux 2.

    I initially thought that the game wasn’t properly weighted for difficulty, but then found that I just needed to adapt my strategy. I can complete most levels in 2-3 minutes, though some might take 4-7 depending on how it breaks (I play on the fastest setting after getting good at it on normal speed).

    I pick it up when my partner pauses to get a snack, go to the bathroom, or take an important call. I can set it down as soon as she’s ready because there’s no real stakes; I’m really just competing with myself to score faster and faster “best” times. I also play it while listening to podcasts if I can’t be physically active (or when I’m lazy).

    I play on iOS. Not sure if it’s on Android.

    I ordered four m.2 chips for a raid and one of them was not like the others. Clearly a diff brand chip with a sticker transferred to it. Had I not bought multiple chips I might not have caught on.

    Fuck amazon for anything of value. I now use it only for things like books and cat litter.

    There’s risk to the soon-to-be-elderly. I think their culture depends on the young to care for the elderly and they’re about to have that upended to some degree.

    I say this as a dumb american who has been to Asia but not Japan; I’m speaking way out of turn. If someone who is better-educated on this topic wants to correct me, I’d love to be better informed.
