Summer is here, which means that people are having Discourse about what weight women are allowed to reach before they should not be allowed to wear revealing clothing instead of just letting people wear clothes and shutting the hell up.

@evacide People have an alarming inability to shut the Hell up, don't they? I sometimes get the urge to write a lesson plan explaining that a) there is a category of thought that is best not expressed, and b) that this is most thoughts people have.

I get the urge to write that lesson plan. On the side of a brick. That I would then proceed to teach via the time-honoured tradition of smashing it in people's faces.

Apropos of nothing, it's still wild to me now Xitter has ruined social media, and people now use it as a personal broadcasting mechanism instead of, you know, being social.

@jens One of the reasons I dropped Farcebook and Xhitter (before the latter was "ruined" by Apartheid Manchild) is that it felt exactly like you described: personal broadcasting, not interaction.

I had a pretty rough day and contemplated just giving up on @pixelfed because it seems like I can’t catch a break

But after calming down, I started to remember all the big milestones and the people who believe in our platform and in me

I’m not ready to give up, in fact this was the kick in the ass I needed to get my priorities straight and focus on shipping the app ASAP and also Groups

I’m a few months behind on my NLnet Groups milestone and need the money so that’s my focus after the app

Unemployment has been at or below (mostly below) 4% since the end of 2021.

4 years ago, Trump called it "joyous" &"stupendous" that unemployment was only 13.3%.

In the "booming" Reagan years, unemployment averaged 7.5%.

Pres. Biden is presiding over historically strong growth.

@rbreich Which definition of "unemployment"? There are six in common usage, and politicians wanting to make their numbers look good always seem to cite the most useless one.
