Started this up because I’m planning to leave Reddit, but I’d also like to keep some form of drum corps community standing. I’ve also created a community on Lemmy since that seems to be a popular alternative as well.
I'm ready to ditch reddit too. Sad we're losing the established communities and historical comments and posts but this is a great opportunity to get away from big corporate social media.
Professionally, I work in IT, helping small and medium sized businesses who may not be large enough to need or afford their own IT person/department.
Personally, I am a long time performer, fan, journalist, and advocate of the marching arts activities (drum corps, marching band, winter guard, indoor percussion, indoor winds). My wife and I are about to celebrate our 19th wedding anniversary.
