Apollo did have a free tier and then a few paid tiers.
iirc, (I bought it many years ago), they had a one time Pro purchase that removed any ads and unlocked theming and such, and then the Ultimate which was a subscription to cover server costs of push notifications (although it did eventually end up having more features locked behind it).
While I personally did not go for the Ultimate subscription (didn’t really need the push notifications), I gladly paid for the Pro as it was well worth it IMO.
We want to be able to make sure the app doesn't do anything malicious (like spy on us) and be able to change it to fit out needs. Like we can with Lemmy.
It's not exactly the same. The Free Software movement is about user freedom. Open Source is a term used by corporations to avoid mentioning that users should have rights.
Yup, every sub that participated or said anything against reddit's choices is going to have their mods removed. Even if you went public when reddit asked you to.
There is not an apk available yet. Currently there is a limited amount of beta testers (around 10 people). The devs are closing out some bugs in the coming days and @hariette is planning on rolling out an invite to a few hundred beta testers on the 1st of July. The roll out will be based on who signed up on this google form.
I want to say “No one should have enough money to be able to endlessly be sued and to drag the court cases on until the victim runs out of money” but the real issue is “justice” systems relying on who has the most money as a deciding factor in who “wins.”
Motherfucker shouldn’t have any special privilege whatsoever.
Apparently city workers investigating were already barred twice from entering. Yet if I was holed up in my apartment refusing to leave after not paying rent, you can bet your ass they would send out tons of jackbooted thugs from the local Police Department to kick down the fucking door and break my legs for thinking I could do that.
So sick of being alive in this shithole fucking country that lets idiot manchildren do what the fuck ever because money. What a fucking farce this life is.
Check if your issue is https://codeberg.org/Kbin/kbin-core/issues/1019
the last few posts to this magazine have all been people saying they can't view posts / comments when logged in but can when logged out (which you might not be able to see of course if it is this issue, as they were all posts and not links). Try removing all blocked domains to see if you can see them again.
Edit: To be clear, this is to fix being able to see the posts after the error, not fixing the error. My current working theory is:
users on kbin.social get an error when posting. the post is made, but with an empty domain field
kbin.social users with any domains blocked, regardless of what they are, will not be able to see the post or comments if they open the post via url
