Despite already having read every book in the series, I'm thoroughly enjoying the new Spice and Wolf anime.
The pacing is great for the content being translated to the screen, and they are intelligently skipping over bits that are less intriguing or important to the story in favor of focusing on the more exciting mercantile subterfuge and relationship between Lawrence and Holo. I'm also a big fan of how much more expressive they've made Holo's animation this time around.
Episode 3 is in the bag and I'm looking forward to seeing how the rest of the season plays out
@neatchee I’ve really gotta give this a go. I’d watched a bit of the original series but I was ~20 when that was airing and it wasn’t exciting enough for me at the time, but now I have a feeling it’d land a lot better for me
@coffeentacos if you've got the time and interest I strongly encourage you read the books first. But the new anime is worth watching either way for sure!
