Infiltrating Mckamey Manor
Hello Halloween! This community has been pretty dead since the great Reddit migration so I just wanted to start some discussion on a topic that has gripped me recently. Hopefully some fellow Halloween migrants like myself are here to participate!
So if you haven't seen it, there's a video by a YouTuber named Reckless Ben on exposing McKamey Manor. I'm sure we're all familiar with this extreme haunt that exploded in popularity in the early 2010s. Well, I always had a weird feeling about this guy. Especially when some interviews about him came out, he just seemed kinda off. I just assumed he was hiding a violence fetish behind his haunted house. It seems like that may be true but it's even wilder. I highly encourage watching the documentary, part 2 just released yesterday and I guess he's got lots more content for more parts. But so far he's suggested that:
- McKamey Manor is not real, there is no haunted house just a few small "stunts" set up for a spectacle, but this is why no one ever makes it in.
- all the videos online of beaten people saying they loved it are falsified by Russ threatening them.
- an old associate of the manor said Russ confided in him that he has PTSD and the only time the voices in his head go quiet are when he's hurting these people.
- Russ pays off a local police officer to shrug off any attempted police report filings against the manor.
- Russ bullies and ostracizes anyone, including his inner circle, who questions even the smallest fact about the manor.
- Russ secretly started a petition against McKamey Manor to Garner publicity.
This shits wild. I know that the manor has always been a divisive topic amongst Halloween enthusiasts who enjoy haunts. But with all this new information coming out, I think we'll start to see more of the community turning on the manor and possibly see it shutter it's doors. I'd love to hear what you guys think!
