Not getting conspiratorial but...at this point I think evidence has just been getting stronger and stronger. I am a believer that extraterrestrial life exists somewhere in the universe, probably just microbes, but I would never think that there would be aliens HERE, on earth...the distances are just too huge. Lately I've been questioning that more and more though...and the fact the the US government is beginning to take this seriously is just crazy to me. It means that all of the historical reports...or at least, a fraction of them have a whole other level of reputability now.

take the classic tic tac case. Whatever these things are...they are physical. We know that, because of the multiple accounts of radar sightings, distant visuals and actual encounters with navy aircraft...and actual footage. And the characteristics that they show mean that whether it be extraterrestrial or made by another some other country or whatever, either way...it's just crazy. Right outside our realm of understanding. Things travelling from the top of the atmosphere to sea level in seconds, and showing up as completely cold on thermal cameras...

@mightyspaceman Certainly. There's nothing to be defensive about in taking a cold hard look at the reports - that's rational. The creeping realization that a lot of reports have multiple (excellent) witness, radar, and FLIR combined...? When you find your mind being blown, you just want to keep digging.

@mightyspaceman There’s just too much smoke to have no fire at this point.

It’s almost impossible to evaluate individuals’ claims, such as Grusch’s, but at least he went through channels and it seems it will be investigated.

I’m waiting to hear from more military witnesses and see what Dr Loeb comes up with. So much fringe, so little hard evidence.

Assuming FTL is impossible, interstellar distances are reason enough not to expect visitors. But OTOH machines have lots of time.

@skry waiting patiently for the proposed report at the end of this month

damn I really do sound like a conspiracy theorist, don't I. Just to clarify, I always take things on the skeptical side.

I mean, take david grusch for example. He's got all the credentials, and to lie would mean some very serious consequences, but every movement of his body language tells me he is a liar.

@mightyspaceman Just spotted this, sorry. It turns out (acc to Coutlhart) that Grusch is autistic, which is relevant to body language anomalies. I don't think it helped that Coulthart and Zabel recorded a full run through with him the previous day as there was fear of US marshals turning up on the News Nation set etc.
