@ai6yr I have used similar adapters like this for a pi4 (usb-c) and pi zero w and pi2 (micro usb). Very useful to get it to a single cable.

@ai6yr I've got a couple of these running Pi4s: https://www.waveshare.com/poe-hat-c.htm seems to work ok as long as you replace the fan

@ai6yr I’ve used a variety of PoE hats for Pis and external power extractors like this. The big decision point is how the SBC will be enclosed and cooled.

@jlamoree @ai6yr I've tried many poe hats but they've not worked well.

What I've found worked is just simple splitters, where you plug the rj45 into it & it has rj45 for network & either usb c or micro usb depending on the pi.

The latter had worked better & more reliably than any hat

@ai6yr How does that work? It's got a boost converter in it or is there something special on the other end of the cable too?

@apodoxus Other end of the cable is POE, which provides up to 48V, or at least 12V -- up to 15 watts of power. The Pi runs off 5V. About 3-4 watts consumption.
