German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said on April 16 that he has asked Chinese President Xi Jinping to "put pressure" on Moscow to end its war in Ukraine, as "China's word carries weight in Russia."
Worth a try, but I think it would be more beneficial to China to attack russia and take a big chunk out of them, while russian troops are somewhere they shouldn’t be. China wants to expand and tests some of their peaceful neighbours, but those are the wrong direction. If they attacked russia, they would suddenly gain lots of friends and support for expansion in that direction.
