Fucking brownshirts

Why are these repeat offenders not in jail?

Passerby6497,

Why would the cops arrest their own? Can’t get rid of your brown shirts if you want them to act as your paramilitary vigilante militia.

Maeve,

They side with the right side. Some are the police

Maeve,

Pardon? I'm not catching the gist of your comment.

niartenyaw,
@niartenyaw@midwest.social avatar

sorry, it’s lyrics from the song Killing In The Name by Rage Against the Machine

some of those that work forces are the same that burn crosses

insinuating that some cops are also in the KKK

Maeve,

No it's my fault, and thank you. I should listen to music soon, especially old music. I've been on lofi when I listen, lately.

Authorities are still working to identify the perpetrators, and have not made any arrests.

Yeah, I’m sure the authorities are up all night, doggedly investigating.

AngryCommieKender,

Oh they are. Gotta find a brownish look alike patsy to cover up for their fellow gang members colleagues

They are getting practice for when they will be foot soldiers to roam the streets attacking Democrats in general, or Hispanics, or anyone who challenges or threatens the leader.

I don't know if they know that, or if it just feels right to them now and they know they're with their buddies and they have a strong team they feel good about and don't look into it any deeper than that feeling, but that's absolutely the plan, once things get to that point.

Madison420,

I mean it’s literally how the brown shirts started. They just need a uniform and some coordination.

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/b/b6/World_Economic_Forum_logo.svg/400px-World_Economic_Forum_logo.svg.png

LodeMike,

Oh wow it’s actually real: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Economic_Forum

zkfcfbzr, (edited )

I feel dumb. What’s special or interesting about the logo design?

Edit: That’s what I get for just reading the headline and not clicking through, I guess 🤦

LodeMike,

The logo on the podium is identical to the WEF logo

Sentrovasi,

It's worse because the arc isn't even like going through Os or anything, it crosses two letters and misses a third. They didn't even understand the design they stole.

LodeMike,

I’d rather not think about it, but thank you.

Nomad, in Study suggests young men who love loud cars score high on psychopathy and sadism

Here is the study:

…edu.pl/A-desire-for-a-loud-car-with-a-modified-m…

The abstract is a joke and the result makes pretty clear this study is for political purposes.

Their study is only in men that study business and the psychopathy part is a self reported quality. The article is also purely hate mongering.

Nobody likes loud assholes and their cars. But looks a lot like someone is gonna introduce some new legislation soon.

awwwyissss,

I hope so, put those shit cars in the car crushing machine

bassomitron, in Columbia University, home to one of the nation's most respected journalism schools, blocks reporters from campus as dozens of students are arrested

She said the encampment violated many of the university’s new policies put in place last fall, requiring at least two days notice for demonstrations and requiring them to be held in authorized areas.

“This is a challenging moment and these are steps that I deeply regret having to take,” her email continued. “The current encampment violates all of the new policies, severely disrupts campus life, and creates a harassing and intimidating environment for many of our students.”

When did our country get so damn complacent with “authorized demonstration areas”?

I don’t have much of a stake in the whole conflict over there other than I hope the needless misery and suffering end immediately. But this woman’s comments are just so damn out of touch and pathetic. Protests are meant to disrupt and make people uncomfortable. That’s literally the point. You don’t get shit done by being polite when everyone is ignoring you and trying to shove you in a closet to make you go away. You get louder and more aggressive until others realize that ignoring you isn’t going to work in the long term.

snooggums,
@snooggums@midwest.social avatar

This is the US where rhe KKK marching on the statehouse grounds is perfectly fine because eVeRyOnE gEtS a VoIcE, but BLM is demonized.

Of course they made petty protest restrictions so they could use it on anyone who opposes the status quo. This country loves to talk about freedom while denying it when anyone who actually needs to be heard wants to speak.

underwire212,

Oh no no, we’re very progressive and advocate for protesting! But you have to warn us beforehand, and you can only protest over there where it’s far away and no one will see you, and you can only protest about certain things, and if we think the protests are actually working, regardless if you follow the 800 rules we require, then we have the right to arrest and break it up anyway.

But otherwise we’re progressive and will let you protest! ☺️

DougHolland, in Faced with ‘Cop City’ referendum push, Atlanta changes up its election rules
@DougHolland@lemmy.world avatar

Opponents filed proper petitions to put the question of Cop City to voters; the local (Democratic-run) government has blocked those petitions and that election.

Denied access to democracy, the opposition is now morally authorized to blow up every trace of Cop City, and I wholeheartedly hope they do.

King County prosecutors did not file criminal charges against Dave, saying in February there was no evidence he drove with a “disregard for the safety of others,” despite him driving nearly three times faster than the area’s posted speed limit just before the crash.

people have absolutely been charged with involuntary manslaughter for running over other people with the speed cited as an indicator of disregard

this is the police and their prosecutor work buddies not enforcing laws on police
