TurdMongler,

FairEmail

boredsquirrel,

Pretty awesome too. Havent used it in a while, even though bought premium, because the interface was too cluttered.

Alphane_Moon,

I wonder how this compares to the Protonmail app. I use Thunderbird on desktop, might check this out if I have time.

boredsquirrel,

It supports all normal mail servers.

But for sure Protonmail does some fancy encryption, PGP is not nice to use

Alphane_Moon,

On Windows, Thunderbird requires the Protonmail Bridge application, it’s pretty easy to setup. I wonder if this is even possible on Android.

boredsquirrel,

No there is nothing like that.

It’s just a rebrand, but I’ve used Thunderbird for so long and gotten so used to the icon aesthetics, it’s awesome to see it come together finally.

I missed the news that K-9 was becoming Thunderbird for Android. I used to use it before switching to FairEmail, I think because development had stalled. It’s a solid choice, hopefully they don’t add too much in like they have with the desktop version.
