This is huge and it's going to help the platforms grow, potentially bringing in people used to the third-party reddit apps that are now shifting to the fediverse.
Thunder is more than decent already, and it's still in alpha. But once the kbin API will be officially ready, I expect it to work even better for us.
I personally LOVE my Joey for Reddit, a minor one for sure, but is/was the PERFECT solution if you wanted the maximum customization. I set mine so compact that I can have 7/8 thread at the same time on the screen.
So I am hoping to see something without unneccesary spacing/padding and customizable font sizes. That will be for me THE fediverse mobile client.
If it's something customizable, it shouldn't matter how it's by default. I don't think I've used Joey for Reddit, I was a Relay fan myself. I loved that you could dismiss the posts you've already seen. Now that's something I have some trouble adapting to here, but it's not a deal breaker.
I don't expect all third-party reddit app developers to jump ship to the fediverse. If users will, developers are likely to follow suit.
First time I heard about it! One of the must have feature I want is the to able to whitelist entire apps (for example, my banking app get destroyed by any blocking list I've tried).
NextDNS has this feature?
And I see they have a limit of 300k queries/month for the free tier: do you find it enough for an average user?
You are a life savior lol, I was looking for an alternative to Vanced since it recently stopped working for me and of course my first thought was to search for a solution on reddit, but since we are on the fediverse now I gave the search box here a go and bingo, here's the solution and it works wonderfully. Thank you!
I dont know why my reply is not showing up under your commet @Otome
I copy-pasted it here to be sure:
Well my friend, let me tell one thing first: you are EVERYWHERE! I recognize your profile pic at this point xD
Returning to the point. For me it was really easy and I understand your fear of say goodbye to Vanced.
The revanced EXTENDED has a different appid from youtube, vanced and revanced, so the good news is that you can install it and try it without the need of uninstalling anything! I got mine by installing first the apk "manager" here (just scroll down and skip the first download link).
When you open the manager you will have a list of thing to install:
just install the Extended version and remember to install/update microG (always by the manager) if you use your Google account
I'm still on my old vanced install and some days it works and some days it doesn't lol. I've been meaning to switch to revanced but I haven't made the leap yet. how does the upgrade process work? just download and install the new apk? or uninstall first?

I just spend way too much time on social media lol. I spent this much time on reddit as well albeit in more niche communities. profile pics make people more recognizable though, as I've started recognizing a few people haha.

oh, okay that's cool then. I thought vanced did something weird with the default google stuff. but I guess not? and yes, I use my google/youtube account with vanced and plan to do so with revanced. I'll definitely check it out then :)
