It just dawned on me that with running Classic Traveller 1977 with just the 3 books, when I'm plotting/planning obstacles and encounters, the mechanics are far in the back. Much further back than even with OD&D/AD&D.
I think the reason has more to do with how I've initially engaged w/CT. My default approach is influenced by my initial successes.
That's also influencing how I'm approaching my Dungeon23. Open-ended obstacles are even moreso now.
