How can I experience the best gameplay with the least dialogue possible?

I can sense this is going to get downvoted probably. I know you guys probably love all aspects of the game so it’s understandable. But I’m not into story based games. I’m into more active gameplay (mostly combat/adventure), of which there is a lot in Cyberpunk that’s actually good. I just want to know how to get the most action with this game and skip through the story, yeah I know I’m missing stuff, but that’s not what I got the game for. I just want gameplay, not story or dialogue or choose your own adventure stuff.

I chose Corpo and I’m not sure if it’s the best path since I read that it has a lot of dialogue. I’m so uninterested in the dialogue that I skip through all of it while choosing random/default options mostly, until I can get to more action gameplay or at least get to walk around and look at stuff which is fun.

I saw gameplay footage online which sold me on the game, and it had someone shooting at robots and fighting different enemies a lot with space age futuristic weaponry and settings. That’s what I want from this game. How can I get to fight robots properly (not the dummy robot you have a fist fight with in the ring but actual warbots with weapons that are a real threat)? Does the Corpo go up against robots at some point or is that something reserved for Streetkid? I just want the most combat and gameplay possible with the least dialogue/story-driven stuff.

Tbh it sounds like the game isn’t for you. It’s an RPG.

Albbi,

Why not play something like a rogue-lite instead? Pretty much all action with minimal dialog.

Hades would be great. It does have a lot of dialog, but it’s in short spurts and is actually pretty great.

I’ve also just started 30xx, which is a Megaman rogue-lite. Almost no dialog but pretty fun.

PlogLod,

I’m into 3D games more than 2D tbh but thanks for the suggestions

PlogLod,

Tried Returnal but the difficulty was impossible…

Roguelites like Risk of Rain 2, FromSoft ARPGs like Bloodborne, indie ARPGs like Hyper Light Drifter, classic FPS like Half-Life, classic 3rd person shooters like the PS2 Ratchet & Clank games.

There are lots of games OP should be playing for what they're looking for, and Cyberpunk ain't one of them.

But I’m not into story based games

Then Cyberpunk 2077 is not for you. This game is based entirely around the story. See if you can get a refund and go play something else.

PlogLod,

Like what? Most games seem to be largely story based these days.

PlogLod,

It was a toss up between this or The Last of Us which is also story driven

WeLoveCastingSpellz,

ultrakill, dusk and wrought flesh are my fave movement shooters if you are into that

BmeBenji,

Prodeus is a solid fuckin sci-fi FPS. Heavily inspired by DOOM (honestly, could be a mod) with extraordinarily punchy guns and visual feedback. There’s a story but I couldn’t tell you what it is. They gave me a gun and put alternate-dimensional aliens in front of me so I shotem.

WeLoveCastingSpellz,

you could try starting with the phantom liberty start, with that you are free after a short cutscene and try shooting at people after getting free than the police will come, fight them steal their cars get into a csr chase fight them again etc. that’s what I do when I wanna play cyberpunk but don’t actually have any time to do a playthrough

technologicalcaveman,

I chose streetkid but started skipping all cutscenes in the final hours cause I really don't care. The characters and world is so boring but the gameplay is good. I'd say in most situations you can skip dialogue and choose first option with no problems at all.

PlogLod,

You get me.

corpo is the best path it sounds like for what you want. that paths dialogue has more options to get more money out of situation or pay less (right down to free in some occasions). if you have not reached the point yet when asked what to do with the body tell them to send it ripperdoc. it gets you a reward faster and results in less dialogue. besides that you can likely just skip dialogue as much as possible and always answer the first optiona as in general the dialogue does not matter. you may miss out on the best reward scenario if you do but you really don't need anything reward wise. now personally I like min maxing the reward in my responses so I use some thought. There are a few easy to get items if you want to power game. a variety of people have youtube videos with easter eggs and such but only one is super worth it which is skippy so if you want it just google cyberpunk and skippy.

Joker,

Maybe play something else. The combat is satisfying, but it’s the whole of the combat, progression, world, story and characters that make it a good game. I grew to really like some of the characters and I became invested in the story even though I typically don’t care for story games.

You have to do missions to level up and get new abilities. Most of them are “go to a place and kill bad guys”, fetch quests, and running around to talk to people. You will have bursts of action and then running or driving from place to place in between. If you are skipping out on the story, the characters, and the world then I think the remaining gameplay loop is kind of boring.

PlogLod,

I’m down with grinding and killing bad guys on loop actually. I wish “Free Guy” was a game because that looked fun to play.

nullptrninja,

All of the life paths are generally the same in terms of who/what you fight. They primarily affect the opening scene of the game (which are all very different) and what conversion options you have throughout the game (which in turn can lead to options that don’t involve fighting).

That said, pick any life path you want and in a majority of dialogues there’s a skip-button to fast forward. The dialogue options that advance the quest/story are highlighted for you in yellow so just pick any one of those. You do run the risk of missing out on some different story outcomes but that’s probably fine based on what you said. There will be times where dialogue cannot be skipped, it’s too integral to the story so just power through it.

However, after you hit a certain point in the game (when you are given a quest called “Nocturn Op55N”) there will be a lot of freedom and fighting from doing the side quests which have much less dialogue than the main quest lines. You’ll definitely love that point in the game.

Also, Corpos don’t fight any more robots than nomad or street sadly. As you play the game you’ll see how the stories converge. I suspect that CDPR ran out of time when trying to make each life path different.

Lastly, if you enjoy the game enough to purchase the Phantom Library DLC, that expansion is like 70% dialogue but it’s pretty amazing fighting too (and some robot fights).

It’s really a great game either way though, enjoy it however you want.

7112,

Your starting origin does little besides dialogue options. So outside of the intro you can ignore all differences.

The game is limited till you complete the heist with Dex. That heist is also story heavy so just be prepared.

Your best option is to get Phantom Liberty. You can skip to the mid-point of the game that way and just ignore the story and fight stuff. The whole city is opened.

There is no real post-game so finishing the story isn’t important of you want to mess around.

Story does have some great moments so slow down the fast forward button now and then ;)

Go play Hard Reset !

Cyberpunk is an action-rpg, so there is a bunch of dialogues, most of them are skipable. Lifepath have no importance on gameplay at all. Robots are the most boring ennemis in the game, but you should try phantom liberty cause it really put the emphasis on gunplay.

PlogLod,

This looks good… I would play Halo but I only have PS5…
