Aaoograha_hoa, in Hello everyone!

Hi! You’re not alone! I deleted Reddit as well this year and I miss the Endo subreddit… Would love to see some more activity in this community as well.

I’m a 35F from the Netherlands, so English is not my first language and my experiences with docters/hospitals might be different from your own experiences. I’m still recovering from my second endometriosis operation last june. They found a lot, even more than what was visible on the scans.

So… on Reddit I was a lurker, but as they say: be the change you wanna see! Any one else here except for calculusqu33n and me? Maybe post your age and tell us what made you visit this community? :)

calculusqu33n,

Sorry it took me a little bit of time to respond!! On top of managing possibly having endo, i’m a college student. Lol😵‍💫 I was also a lurker on reddit!! Wishing you the absolute best of luck in your recovery from your second surgery. What was it like? I’m considering asking my OB/GYN about getting one done myself

Aaoograha_hoa,

Hey, I’m so sorry, I didn’t see any notification of your message! And still not really used to checking my comments due to my lurker past 😂

My second surgery went very well, but the recovery is a removed. They removed an ovary and an endometrium with a 6cm diameter, a lot of peritoneum that had growths and scar tissue on it, endometriosis nodules on my diaphragm and large endometriosis spots that formed on the scar of the last operation on the top of my vagina. They also removed a piece of my intestine and multiple adhesions.

It’s four months later now. The first two months I felt great, because I was in a lot of pain before the surgery and that was gone. But in month three new pain flaired up. My doctors think I’m in chronic pain territory now, where my brain has learned to be oversensitive for pain. I will soon be starting with a treatment that’s specialized in re-training your brain. You can read and watch a informative video about it here: www.tamethebeast.org/ I think it’s very promising!
