Finally got my external access working for HomeAssistant. Lots of screwing around with DNS and reverse proxies. I am far from familiar with this stuff, but managed to get it working. Learned lots too.
@Nerdfest That's cool man. I'm curious about the decision to roll your own vs using Nabu Casa.
My challenge with figuring it out via search engine is six months from now, when something isn't working right or I need to reset my router or whatever, I'll not really remember anything. I combat that by trying to remember to take super detailed notes. I'm not perfect at it but I think I'm getting better.
