Before internet we had the telephone to communicate. What do you people think could be the next step of that?

Before I joined the Fediverse, it felt like the Internet was composed of only 4-5 social media sites and a bunch of corporate news articles, with only a couple of old remnant sites that looked out of place like a historic church in a business district. All of a sudden, though, it feels like people are creating lots of new sites....

I've been a chronic lurker on many platforms for my entire life, but the amount I actually contribute on the internet is VERY little. I want to like Kbin. I really do. But it's just not the same. There are no apps. The format is not reader-friendly. Usability is way low....
