I spent a few years in Indonesia and think their coffee culture is spectacular (Indonesian beans + initially Australian style cafe culture + now homegrown coffee culture). Bandung and Malang and other college towns have so many great coffee spots. So does Jakarta. Far greater density of great coffee than SF.
Today, doing a Chemex from a Jakarta roaster I practically lived in (I like Giyanti beans but was more accessible)

When I lived in Jakarta in the mid 80s, it was hard to get real coffee as all the nouveau riche types wanted to show off that they drank imported coffee. That would have been only one, Nescafe instant.
@diverdutch coffee culture has vastly leapfrogged the rest of the world since. I’m partial to a good local kopi myself like kopi tubruk, but even those have gentrified
I think it now has the highest density of great coffee anywhere
