On this day 10 years ago, "CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER" was released in theaters.
Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo from a screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, this film cost $170 million to make and grossed $714.4 million at the box office. It is currently Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with a 90% approval rating, and is regarded as one of the best MCU films by fans.
A sequel, Captain America: Civil War, was released in 2016 by the same directing and writing team, who would later go on to make Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
