My grandma had one of these. She eventually got a new TV, and used this as a stand for it. Just a tablecloth hid what it really was.

TORFdot0, If this TV ever died, it just became the TV stand for a new model without the console. Just stick it on top! Easier than trying to move this thing out
Anticorp, I was gifted a Heathkit TV that looked just like this, long after it went out of fashion. But a free TV was a pretty big score back then, so I used it for years. The remote control used audible high pitched tones to communicate with the TV.
