Zoinks! Digital Trends has compiled a list of 10 TV shows that they say are overrated, from "Parks and Recreation" ("overly hopeful") to "The Bear" ("a great dramedy, but award shows and audiences keep treating it as Christ’s second coming, which it most certainly isn’t."). Here's the full list. We want to know: Which of these do you think are overhyped, or just don't stand the test of time (choose as many as you like)? Tell us in the comments if there's another show that's critically adored but that you just can't see the appeal of.

"Grey's Anatomy" came top in our poll of shows that aren't worth the hype, with "The Office" (the U.S. version) a fairly close second. Bottom of the list was "The Bear," which just 9% of voters thought was overrated — and we blame the industry for labeling it as a comedy when it's probably one of the most stressful-to-watch TV shows currently in production.

@CultureDesk Not voting because I haven't seen any of these but Stranger Things. I watched the first two seasons and haven't gone back for the rest yet. It's a good show and the actors did a very good job but I don't think it's the masterpiece people make it out to be.

@dfrancis It's going to be very interesting to see how they conclude the story — particularly since many of the core cast members are now in their 20s. Will they leap forward? Use de-aging software?

@CultureDesk British or American "The Office"?

@ubik An important distinction — the article is referring to the U.S. version.

@CultureDesk
Isn't EVERYTHING ALWAYS over hyped? Isn't that just the nature of show business (1% show, 99% business)?

@Fusob Good point — and just because something is over-hyped doesn't mean it's actually terrible. Also, thinking particularly of comedy, there are many shows that were of their time and perhaps their humor doesn't work 20 years later, but that doesn't mean they were never funny in the first place!

@CultureDesk I'm surprised they hype Only Murders in the Building as an alternative to The Bear. There are moments when Only Murders is brilliant, but there are more in which it's painfully, unwatchably cringy.

@KeithAmmann Yes — possibly they're just contrasting it as a straight-up comedy, which "The Bear" certainly isn't — if you laughed all the way through "Fishes" (season 2, episode 6), we don't want to go to dinner at your house!

@CultureDesk bah, I forgot to click Ted Lasso, but it's definitely overrated.

@Beeks Verrrry interesting results so far! "Ted Lasso" has a bit of a pandemic halo but by season 3 that had definitely slipped!
