I call bullshit on the claim it’s “because of how bullying cases were handled”. Looks pretty straightforward, racist AF to me.
And even if that were true, or more likely he was a racist dickhead, either way: if he had such a big problem, if he wanted to protest…you don’t have to publicly cross the stage at graduation. Not that he’s smart enough to reason this out. But crossing the stage is a privilege, it is public recognition, it is a community event. The graduate need not be compelled to participate; she could have received her diploma in the mail (like most do, anyway) & stayed home.
Although judging by the girl’s reaction, her father was acting off-the-cuff, alone, and without her knowledge. I’m hoping that’s the case. Racism is fucking stupid.

Indeed, this “from the river to the sea” talk means eradicating Israel. One side intends to eradicate the other; they do not plan to live in harmony.
Hamas could end the civilian bloodshed, immediately, if they release ALL the hostages & surrender. But they don’t care about about casualties; they revel in death. The plan has been laid out in their articles (but softened in 2017) , believe them both. But give more weight to the original. It speaks from the heart, and communicates the desire to exterminate Jews.
There’s nothing simple about any of it, though. Idk. Complicated blood feuds, various claims to ancient lands. It’s just a shame they can’t get along. I love this cartoon on the subject, This Land Is Mine. Never ceases to be relevant, a poignant commentary on their eternal struggle.
Getting sucked into a rabbit hole & I need to sleep, I find it interesting. Wildly different takes from different sides, all claim to be peaceful. Idk I’m very skeptical, with the first Hamas charter, how I’ve seen Hamas behave, & just generally how people operate.
The people representing each side are biased, of course, and it’s possible they believe what they’re saying. It’s also possible they’re telling you what they want you to know, or what you want to hear. Doesn’t necessarily mean it’s true. US was withdrawing from Afghanistan, and we heard so many assurances from the fucking Taliban (( lol )) about how “they were just going to assume power”, “they will be just & good”, “the women will be fine”, just telling the world everything the world wanted to hear. They resumed control. Now their young girls are banned from above-8th grade education, they’re covered up, they’re married off & beaten & raped. Business as usual. Huh. I guess the Taliban…lied.

Which leads me to believe…we’re going to see at least an attempted Trump assassination.

I’m friends with a poly, 2 chubby bi guys & an even fatter woman. As I said, we’re friends, I don’t particularly care & we talk. They recently had a baby, we hang out when they’re in town.
OKAY I didn’t think this was unique to me. I seem to have been muted for pretty innocent stuff? I have been muted at least 6 times. The posting bans have lasted anywhere from a couple days to a couple weeks. It’s very frustrating when you type out a well thought-out comment, click to submit, and it never posts. 😑 I try to select all & copy my comment before I submit.
If I know some mod has muted me, I just comment ‘A’ on random posts to see if I’m allowed to speak again. If it doesn’t post successfully, ban remains in effect. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
It almost has to be a muting ban of sorts, because I can’t post on my main but on a secondary I can post just fine. I haven’t left Lemmy (yet…) because I’m not going back to Reddit & aside from this, Lemmy is a decent substitute. Lemmy has been really frustrating, trying to be a member of the community. Forced into being a lurker six different times by some anonymous coward(s). Not knowing when your ban will be lifted.
If my theories are correct, I’d like a little more transparency in the process. Who issues the muting bans, WHY, and when the talking ban will expire. It can be a simple, private direct message. “Butthurt Bob has muted you for: hurting his fee-fees. Butthurt Bob’s ban will last 6 days.”
I mean I always check to see if there’s “one in the chamber”. And yeah even if you had a full magazine, until it’s racked, the gun is a paperweight.
