It’s the “grandpa has been using slotted all his life so it can’t be bad” reasoning. I can’t think of a single use case I’d want slotted or even philips, if I’ve got a choice. Torx or bust!
If you’re having trouble with Torx, buy better screws and bits. There are so many terrible screws around. The difference between a deep well fitting head and the cheap trash is massive.
In a move the EPA deemed ‘historic,’ the agency has banned chrysotile asbestos, the only form of the cancer-causing mineral that the U.S. still imports and uses
There’s always been crazy and stupid people. And then we gave them the internet to connect and to have a voice. Now they feed of each other’s crazynies and believe they run the world.
Only way to fight this is education. Give people the ability to see through crazy. You’re not born with common sense. It’s taught and learned.
That people can still type in these word salads in 2024 is beyond me. Real actual scientists all over the world have answered these questions years ago. Stop asking Facebook for answers. Try Google
No. Google helps you search the web. It’s up to you to look for trustworthy sources but that’s not too hard. Just sticking to Wikipedia is fine most of the time.
But that involves reading and this may prove challenging to some.
One of the amazing political achievements of Republicans in this election cycle has been their ability, at least so far, to send Donald Trump’s last year in office down the memory hole. Voters are supposed to remember the good economy of January 2020, with its combination of low unemployment and low inflation, while forgetting...
I kid you not but only a few days ago someone here on lemmy argued that you can’t take anything he says at face value… Because you know… He lies. Especially if he only said it once.
Yes it was supposed to be a pro-Trump argument because Trump said he’d want for Israel to finish the job (in Gaza) and that guy argued, he’ll vote for Trump because Biden is complicit in genocide.
Because this doesn’t describe what Germany has. There aren’t any insurance companies in the graphic. In Germany we don’t pay taxes for our healthcare, we pay contributions. So why would this be oversimplified because Germany?
I didn’t use any alt or downvote anyone. But why would I draw a chart of Germanys system without insurance companies? That wouldn’t be the German system.
And that’s my point. This isn’t showing the German system. So your initial assessment of this being oversimplified because it’s different in Germany doesn’t make any sense.
I’ve red patriot is a “billion dollar system”. Losing these hurts a lot. I don’t know if Germany has a lot of these launchers. The mobile launchers are from Germany I believe.
Did you though? He’s running again with a good chance to become president, again.
I can only speak for myself but I am sick and tired of the fate of the world hanging on whatever mentally deranged and unhinged extremist the US might elect every few years. Aren’t you supposed to be the oldest democracy in the world? I expect as much from countries like Russia or China but the US should do better.
In Germany we’ve something we call “wehrhafte Demokratie” which basically means a democracy capable of defending itself. There are measures in place (in theory) that prevent parties that aim to destroy the democracy from getting into power by winning elections.
Someone who openly admits his goal is to end democracy shouldn’t be able to run for president. It’s what happened in Germany back in 1933. The NSDAP won the general election and took over the government via democratic means and within weeks destroyed the democracy. Never again (hopefully)
I don’t know a thing about windows 11 but they’ll have to claw windows 10 away from me to force me to switch. Why would I even want to? Windows 10 works just fine and even that I only switched to because they fucking forced me. If I could I’d still use Windows 2000. I loved that one. XP was fine as well though. I don’t want to worry about my OS. I want it to fucking work.
But an OS you don’t need to upgrade doesn’t generate money.
Back when they made “300” it was almost satire how shredded these guys looked. It was obvious it wasn’t realistic and wasn’t meant to be. Nowadays we get shows like Reacher with an absolutely humongous lead that’s supposed to wander around doing jack shit all day… right. His mother shat him out this way.
And female “tough” leads are often tiny and no muscle in sight yet they still kick ass and routinely dispose off bad guys twice their size. Why do the guys even need to be this big when physics don’t matter?
I hate this so much. Hollywood is so fucking fake.
