@ernest I think lack of communication is a problem, but it's not end of the world. Some people gone Kbin and understand potential Kbin has, so don't throw line like you step down due delays. When reddit blackout happened some people noted that "Reddit founders" only noted 2 people... when years ago there was 3 founders. One was booted and now is buried as if he never was there. I would rather have you with your life problems than someone who have no such problems... Thank you for your hard work!
Not for Lemmy precisely, but I said f it and never gone back(excluding random click). Trying to help AK community I was involved past few years. Moderating a bit on kbin AK magazine, but mostly either spend time on Discord where mix of reddit and non reddit sitting. Mastodon for more serious information and interaction with Lemmy, while Misskey for Arknights fanart/art with hopes that some federates to Kbin magazine(lately # not picking up sadly). Waiting for better mod tools, federation fixes.

Without complicating too much when people talk about federation/fediverse, here https://fedidb.org/ which lists services that uses same protocol aka fediverse. So if you don't find niche on your instance, it might be somewhere on other lemmy instance, kbin instance or somewhere on Microblogs/blogs in related #koalas#koala . If you find people with same interests you can create community yourself. It's wild,prototype,unexplored west here. GL.
Yeah, like many things were mitigated if you used reddit only on mobile with good app, I even don't remember when I sit behind PC to browse reddit. I do know about crypto vault on official reddit app, that later learned only on crypto subbredits only you can earn crypto.I showed some cat pics from subreddit on official app and scrolling from vid to vid...And there were weird jumps from cat doing funny things only to other subreddit. So ads redirect from one sub to other when watching full screen

If you don't use feature you won't find any information unless someone wrote a guide which is problem in it self as guides most likely are notes so it won't be easy to find one. If you need social network message service and want fast loads and less mobile traffic/device resources usage then Mastodon is a king with very tried and true nature. Firefish is fork of Misskey so I can tell a bit as Misskey user. If you want everything in one social service then Misskey/Firefish is the one. Build-in rss reader, memos, gallery, pages, channel for chat like experience, plugins, minigames, likes=emoji that convey message, so... Feature bloat.
@TORFdot0 edit profile>preferences>other>filter language and checkmark what language you want. I think it should work regardless of app, but I might be wrong as I use chrome into webapp on my android.
@Roundcat@Lucidlethargy I think it's okay to self promote on other Instances, because... They will never see your post if they don't boost/re-note etc in their local timeline. It will be pain in the ass, but if your content warrants to be seen, why not? You can make 5 posts on different instances or you can make 1 and boost it across 5 instances. Not everything reaches all instances, but some artwork/videos/guides/life lessons can and should be spread, even if you first to make it across.
@Xepher@Eggyhead@Varen On one hand Lemmy handles posts directed to community as new threads from Mastodon and others, on other hand Kbin listen to # and will pick up all # mentioned in Magazine bio. So with Kbin you can pick up related to magazine # example game or Gamedev and can be seen and discussed by Kbin users, while Lemmy will only pickup on posts that directly addressed, means no discoverability for new people, you have to know community. Shame you can't make threads on kbin from fedi.
So depending on your needs and what you can afford, you can join any service there are like Mastodon if you want raw twitter with # only search, Misskey if you want fun with Emoji and other feature bloat, Kbin and Lemmy for forum experience, Hubzilla for site constructor, there is forks for Masto,Misskey there is Akkoma, Pleroma... There is so much to explore, so finding best place can be hard that would have things you are interested and on service you like, but this is why fediverse get praise
