NauticalNoodle,

I love how he doesn’t even bother trying to consistently maintain the facade. It’s a *Chef’s Kiss

Biden is dramatically out of touch with voters on Gaza. He may lose because of it | Moira Donegan (www.theguardian.com)

Many voters believe, with good reason, that none of this would have happened without Biden’s assent. Biden has continued to speak of Israel’s attack on Palestinian civilians using the absurd language of “self-defense”. He has insulted Jewish Americans and the memory of the Holocaust by invoking them to justify the...

NauticalNoodle,

Third party for the win!

NauticalNoodle,

I’m voting against trump by voting 3rd party. Care to join?

There are some police departments with salaried social workers and “community specialist” officers that are employed explicitly to deal with issues like this. The problem is that a change to law enforcement in this direction must come directly from each individual community and must be supported by those in charge of the local department.

NauticalNoodle,

no niches filled on sunday*

NauticalNoodle,

they can water your drink down with ice if they control the dispenser.

NauticalNoodle,

It’s good to know the U.S. leads the world in something worthwhile.

I remind people that the fastest way to “create a job” is to take a full time position with benefits, cut the hours in half and divide them amongst two new positions after removing the benefits and now you have a 100% increase in the supply of jobs.

NauticalNoodle,

I’ve found over the past few years that target often beats the prices of walmart on household goods and toiletries. Canning supplies were the first thing I noticed.

If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, looks like a duck…

—I just saw this story while creepin’ on Reddit. That place has become completely overrun by astroturfing propogandists. It’s depressing on one had and on the other it makes me glad I deleted my user accounts the day they wen’t public.

67 + 2 in the event one dies and the another resigns?

NauticalNoodle,

The U.S. has an infamous history of obstructing the ICC otherwise the previous 3 president’s would be potentially facing war crimes charges.

NauticalNoodle, (edited )

I’d just like to add that a truly “free market” is not conducive to competition long-term

A twenty second headbuzz while working in food service is almost always worth it. That’s arguably why there are so many people working in food service with substance use disorders.

NauticalNoodle,

I’m sorry but even with my food service background i’m struggling to see the difference you mention. I can see that sometimes places higher more conscientious staff members but with the amount of turnover across the industry, I can’t imagine that a place that doesn’t occasionally have staff members like that barring the high end establishments.

I’m not trying to argue. I think I misunderstood your initial point.

NauticalNoodle,

That honestly sounds more like a texas thing than a TSA thing as sadism is their official state pasttime.

NauticalNoodle,

If they got caught with 4 rounds on their way out, then there’s no telling how many they brought with them. A smuggler would be incentivized to downplay and minimize their crime. Maybe that’s why the penalty is so heavy.

NauticalNoodle, (edited )

Comparison example: Person pulled over driving back into Colorado has a finished roach in his ash tray. Would you think imprisonment for 12 years on the chance that they smuggled pounds of weed to a non-recreational state next door?

They are not in America? The legal standard is likely different. I think being that I’m not from Turks & Caicos makes my opinion on their prison-terms irrelevant. I do think it’s a mistake as an American for my fellow Americans to travel around the world while acting like the laws and general legal-systems of other countries operate exactly the same as ours.

Please try not to take my prior post to this one too seriously. It was a lazy way for me to try to illustrate the idea I laid out in this post. My only real point is this: When in Rome do as the Romans do.

“To be fair, there isn’t a whole ton of legitimate reasons why civilians need .50 cal rifles…”

Right, graboids.

NauticalNoodle,

I don’t consider myself old… or even much of an adult, but I feel like i’ve long outgrown concerts. It seems like all I read about is fans getting seriously injured and crowds of people too preoccupied video-recording instead actually enjoying the music.

NauticalNoodle,

it’s been a decade.

NauticalNoodle,

I’ve been looking and waiting for precisely this app solution. thanks!

NauticalNoodle,

unless it’s previously posted clearly to see before I order, I’d just walk out and not pay, because that is otherwise called “fraud.”

NauticalNoodle,

…and the same obstacle that faced graphene a decade ago is the same seemingly insurmountable obstacle facing it today.
