Hopefully this is more fleshed out than the first game’s basic horde mode.

Got a couple of years of Gamepass ultimate through the gold to ultimate conversion trick, for my own usage on PC because it was a damn good deal. I figured I might as well get a Series X so that my kids can enjoy its benefits too. It’s my first Xbox as I play mostly on PC and also on whatever Nintendo is putting out for their exclusives.

Here are a few picks off the top of my head:

  • Control: TPS, open-ish world, present day setting, solo only
  • Deep Rock Galactic: FPS, mission-centric, sci-fi setting, solo & co-op
  • Generation Zero: FPS, open world, sci-fi setting, solo & co-op
  • Kena: Bridge of Spirits: Action-Adventure, open-ish world, fantasy setting, solo only
  • Outward: RPG, open world, fantasy setting, solo & co-op
  • Remnant: From the Ashes / Remnant 2: TPS, open-ish world, sci-fi & fantasy setting, solo & co-op

I will admit that Outward is something of an acquired taste. It’s not a looker for sure, and starts a bit harsh, difficulty-wise. However it has surprising depth and a true sense of discovery. It is very rewarding once you really get into it.

Plus it really shines in co-op play. It is the closest thing I know of, that can be compared to “Skyrim, but co-op”.

I stand by my recommendation as it is very much a “B game” and pretty unique.

tl;dr: Watch what you put online and who you friend, especially on Steam. Once it’s on the internet, it’s there forever.

That right here is very much what it boils down to. Whether it’s SteamHistory or The Internet Archive or whatever public or private data store… Any information you publish is out of your control as soon as you do.

Yup, feels like a big nerf.

It used to oneshot nursing spewers with a body shot for example, now takes two. It also used to oneshot brood commanders with a head shot, albeit inconsistently. And it was decent at clearing clumps of small ennemies. Oh well, such is the way of things with balance patches.

Finally ! I hope we can go back to bitching talking constructively about balance patches now.

Vocal minority is the assumption when this sort of collective outrage manifests. This time though, thanks to Steam player count we will actually get some hard numbers and see if that has an effect or not.

Story-wise EDF 6 is a sequel to 5, which was a reboot. The in-game ridiculous storytelling through radio communications is part of its charm, I find.

A few too many superlatives in their pitches for my taste. Not a bad idea overall, though the bias in favor of Rust is strong. Did it really become the go-to (heh) memory safe programming language for performance ?

Not sure what you are referring to. The refund policy on Steam is the same for any games, early access or not. The game’s version number or finished state makes no difference.

Maybe you are thinking of the pre-purchase situation, where you can refund up to 14 days after the game’s release, instead of the date of purchase.

Oooh I really liked the first one. Slept on it for years then played it on Steam Deck. It was a perfect game for a portable gaming system.

J’avance tranquillement dans le roman “Le chevalier aux épines, tome 3 : Le débat des dames” de Jean-Philippe Jaworski. Très bon comme à l’accoutumée avec JPJ.

I’m on the fence about Arizona Sunshine 2. I understand it’s quite short relative to its price. I might wait for a deeper discount.

“Bomb” as in “not selling” ? That ship has sailed a long time ago, hasn’t it ? They made hundreds of millions through that “crowdfunding” scheme of theirs already.

Point-and-click movement has been a staple of “Diablo-like” action-rpgs since the 90s. However I recently found out that I enjoyed them more when playing with a controller like they were a top-down twin-stick shooter, starting with Lost Ark. I don’t know about “more precise”, but it feels more natural to handle the positioning with direct control instead of pointing towards the destination.

Are there any communities on Lemmy where bilingual people can communicate or practice? Specifically French.

I speak French as a second language (not fluently) and I am trying to find somewhere on Lemmy where people who speak French as a first or second language could communicate with me and people with a similar interest. At my level, just trying to go to French Lemmy instances or communities isn’t practical, the proficiency...

Je ne connais pas de communautés correspondant à ce que tu décris. Tu pourrais reposer ta question dans !forumlibre par exemple et commencer à interagir en français et/ou anglais (le serveur francophone jlai.lu accepte les participations en anglais).

Sure he’s an exec. He’s also one of the devs who started Arrowhead 15 years ago to make Magicka. Given his track record, I would give his word more credence than those of the likes of Yves “quadruple-A” Guillemot or Bobby “packaged goods” Kotick. His comms when the servers were on fire felt genuine.

Aaaand off the wishlist it goes.

Here’s the late TB piece on the original game: WTF Is… - Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons ?

Just in case there is any misconception: this particular post does not emanate from anyone at Roblox. This is the Vinegar team closing shop and giving context. Vinegar was an open source project which made it easy to run Roblox on Linux.

Roblox Corporation is the one telling a (likely very small) portion of their paying userbase to fuck off.
