That's essentially what the episodes were. It was supposed to be revolutionary like 1, 2, and Alyx were. Episodic games were going to be the future of gaming for a hot minute.
There is a difference between developing a console exclusive game and making a multi-platform game exclusive. Spider-Man was ALWAYS planned as an exclusive (and initially offered to Xbox who turned it down).
Nobody is saying Halo should be on Playstation. Nobody is saying Mario should be on PC.
Just because you disagree with my point of view doesn't mean it's a "strawman" or "arbitrary". I think your opinion is fair, but I don't agree with it for the reasons I already stated.
RES + developer tools worked for me to delete them until my profile ran out of comments. But a quick Google search found that a bunch of my comments are still there, they just don't show up in my profile.
I don't feel dirty. Just sad for the people still over there. At this point I just log in once a day to vote for protest supporter and see what the status is. Then come back to here and Mastadon.
Some of my favorite subs over have gone full toxic and have completely removed my desire to go there. Just total hatred toward being inconvenienced, which is sad on its own that people are so desperate to be submissive. Not understanding that the only reason the protests failed was because they already decided (and then therefore invested in) the protest failing.
Other subs are still voting overwhelmingly to protest in any way possible. But the amount of gaslighting by shills (possible astroturfing) is wild. Every sub has tons of people saying "nobody cares" despite people voting otherwise.
Seems that if we delay deleting content to after July 1st it might be nigh on impossible. As traffic from goggle to old posts will still benefit reddit should we delete or not?...
7R and 15 were both heavily action-focused games, and I quite enjoyed those.
Interesting that you mentioned these. 15 is pretty widely considered to be pretty mediocre, while 7R is widely considered to be high tier.
I didn't care for either, but I loved XVI's from the demo. They really made it just complicated enough to not be repetitive like XV's. You mention it not being God of War, but honestly that's a pretty decent comparison IMO.
It isn't going to die. It's just gonna go stagnant like Facebook. It's just gonna be doomscrollers and bots that scrape content and post the latest news.
I tried to use their app. Even with tinkering I could only view 4 posts on a page (compared to about 10 on RIF). Of those 4, 1 was an ad and another was a "promoted" post. So really, I could only see 2 of my subbed posts. It looked like Facebook.
I am theoretically switching over from Reddit to Lemmy. Finding myself spending more time on Lemmy than on Reddit. Maybe it's because I am limited to using the desktop and can't aimlessly browse Reddit on my iPhone. Of late, the only subreddits I cared for were on sports and their matchday threads and r/watches. I found myself...
I'm keeping it for some specific topic subs. But even then I'm finding myself engaging mostly with Lemmy and Mastadon. Just unsubbing from the large doomscroll subs has curbed 90% if my desire to go there. It takes about 30 seconds to see anything new for the day.
I've seen A LOT of pro corporate bootlicking "fuck the mods" posts and comments. I don't know if it's astroturfing or just that so many of the people who actually care left. But a lot of subs have turned horribly toxic and aggressively anti-empathetic.
It's made it REALLY easy to cut out some like the NFL sub. My sub list is now small enough that I can check it once a week and be fine, kinda like Facebook.
As a gamer, there's a lot of good tips sitting on there. I was just looking up info for the Final Fantasy V mode FF5FJF. Most of the results gave Reddit, and the FF5FJF sub is locked. It was one of those small impactful moments.
One of my favorite subs went aggressively pro-shill. Not just "you did your best". But nothing except contempt and endless mockery.
I would say it's astroturfing. But previously a gaming sub had gone dark for a mere 24 hours as a statement about toxicity and the response was similar.
