Please reread this chain, I’m replying to someone who literally said they hated every second of it, if you hate the gym you don’t have to go and there are plenty of other things to do.
As a person who lives in the third world I absolutely do not want the internet to only be controlled by American corporations from space and would much rather fund proper fiber optics and connections.
Not really, but of that list only China hasn’t directly colonized the country I live or send storm troopers into the forest to murder people in the past decade. I would like the taxes we pay here to go towards developing ourselves, we can pay to educate networking engineers and subsidize the work ourselves and hook into the internet as a peer instead of as a subscriber. Third world countries aren’t poor because we have no money, we’re poor because we’re trapped in bad loan agreements, have lopsided international investment and bad interior planning which prefers plantation cash crops over food security.
I still don’t want the Americans to be controlling literally anything I use or interact with. They will harvest that data to execute military operations against leftists where I live. No fucking thanks, keep your Starlink.
Normal people outside of America in rural places live in communities that can arrange for firewood delivery. The only reason you need your own truck is because you don’t have any semblance of infrastructure, community or mutual aid. This is a policy choice and a failure of your culture.
The US is in no way exceptional or different than anywhere else.
Only in America is “doing things on their own” involve running a global empire to ensure their supply of oil. Without the federal government subsidizing rural people in America it would be physically impossible for them to live there, this is literally the opposite of being independent they are extremely dependent on massive globalized infrastructure.

It does regularly happen in the US and we are not informed. There is no mechanism for informing you or reporting on information from the interior of the US. There is a complete lockdown on information in your country. There are no more reputable journalists, no more reputable local news papers, no reputable national news organizations. 9/11 was your Reichstag fire and you don’t even realize. Literally last week a military defense contractor whistleblower was killed. They’re smart enough to kill these people early by police violence or pushing them into prison for made up non violent crimes before people are a problem.
There are over 2 million people incarcerated in the US, the largest number of any country in the world by far and one of the highest rate of incarceration by far. Your missing leaders are in there.
