@NerdsofaFeather @ergative @bookstodon Yeah, you can tear ass on a bunch of old scifi novels for having insulting or abusive ideas toward social issues & inadequate scientific/logical grounding. Like what were Martians thinking to expose themselves to earth bacteria & viruses (even if those agents could utilize the Martian bodies to their benefit)? The issue becomes challenging however when we try to write a novel now that will be contemporary in 2100. Whose toes will we be stepping on then?
