If using the word “cisgender” is a ban-worthy offense, it’s not being considered “a word that can sometimes be insulting”, it’s being considered “a word that is inherently harmful to use in almost any situation”

I agree. If this were actually addressing the problem in question (bad faith actors harvesting data) then sure, but it isn’t really because the other options are still suffering from the same problem. If anything, this entire discussion is a whataboutism to avoid talking about how more electric cars lets us phase out the ice ones.
Generally, as here in CO, there is still a minimum wage for staff that are regularly tipped, it’s just lower. I believe it’s also (again, as here) generally required that any time the tipping doesn’t make up the difference, companies are required to make it up instead.
That being said, it’s basically a way to advertise much lower prices than they actually charge. Roles that often get tipped tend to make pretty good money, and companies would basically never want to pay that much for those roles (especially when they are used to paying even less than minimum wage).
In their house, my sister is already using the threat of Christmas big brother against any minor hijinks that their kid gets up to.
Oof, that seems a bit much to me. Does she tell stories about the bogeymen or Baba Yaga, too? I’d rather my child be concerned with the actual consequences for their actions rather than the imagined ones
I mean, actually, is love for it not to have happened and for people to just stop being assholes, but barring that, I would be interested to see this corroborated
In fact, the history of the “freak show” is very interesting and worth reading about. It’s a story of how capitalism exploits vulnerable populations for profit (PT Barnum is a piece of shit), though it has evolved a lot over time and is different now.
Right, but can a cis woman sue a cis man for using the women’s toilet? I have to assume the answer is yes, there would be legal grounds to sue. Or at least that the lawmakers and governor believe there would be.
Don’t get me wrong, I’d be glad for more money in my take-home, but in general I’m in favor of the things taxes pay for. I’d prefer to just be paid better.
Capital gains taxes are only levied against the profit earned from investment, not the gross value returned to the stakeholder.
If someone buys a stock for $100, then later sells it for $150, only $50 is taxed. So the money that was “already taxed” by income taxes isn’t being double taxed at all, regardless of the rate of the capital gains tax.
Unless, of course, you count the fact that it was taxed as income by the person who gave it to you, in which case all money has been taxed numerous times before and the argument is that taxes in general are bad.
Couldn’t he? What rule prevents him? Like, it’s the most obvious situation ever where he shouldn’t be allowed to, but it’s there an actual law somewhere saying so?
A very small percentage of people who transition ever choose to detransition. Further, a very small percentage of people who detransition report that their reasons for doing so included that they weren’t actually transgender. The vast majority of people who detransition do so because of outside pressure from their community and not because they think they were wrong to transition.
