It worked for him before-- it might work again. He is still neck to neck with Biden in polling after all.

TankovayaDiviziya,

Younger folks are just electorally apathetic. This isn’t exclusive to GenZ and Millenials, if you look back on voter records in the '60s and '70s, even the young boomers at the time also did not vote in droves. It is an age thing more than any specific generational traits.

TankovayaDiviziya,

Yeah a lot of people might not be aware just how heinous Japans actions were in The Second Sino-Japanese War

Unless if you’re from Asia.

TankovayaDiviziya,

Then on the other end, you have bosses who willingly took pay cut to save employees from lay offs such as Nintendo bosses Satoru Iwata and Shigeru Miyamoto. They’re far and wide among the bloody sea of cut throat and greedy executives.

TankovayaDiviziya,

You mean to tell me that industries sacrifice long term consequences for short term profit?!

shockes Pikachu face

TankovayaDiviziya,

What country are you in? I thought landlord reference is the norm.

TankovayaDiviziya,

Russia is testing if NATO is indeed an anti-Russia alliance. It may well be, although Russians culturally distinguish themselves from the West and would never align with the latter. Even after the fall of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev, the man responsible for the collapse of communism, still expressed concerns about NATO expansion. Russia even set up CSTO, as something of a counter to NATO, with several former Soviet republics. So, this clearly shows Russia wants to be independent from the West and carve their own influence; that ideology being called Eurasianist.

Keep in mind though that the West and Putin were friendly in the 00s but the former keep questioning the human rights issue in Russia. So, I think this annoyed Putin (as many dictators tend to be when questioned about human rights) and only galvanised his and Russia’s anti-Western sentiment. There are many Russians who are pro-West and liberal, but they are a minority in comparison to the nationalist and Eurasianist minded Russian population. Because if Putin truly doesn’t have support, the support for the Russian invasion of Ukraine would have already collapsed.

TankovayaDiviziya,

“Useless red circle” is there to accommodate both the lower attention span and attention to detail of younger generations who have been conditioned with ever increasing faster pace of life.

TankovayaDiviziya,

I’m not just justifying the use of red circle BTW, I’m just explaining as to why it’s common these days in the age of Internet.

TankovayaDiviziya,

Do I think boomers are materialistic? Yes. Do I think every boomers are handed with everything on silver platters? Ask those who grew up in the 60s and 70s Asia, Africa and Latin America undergoing wars and social turmoil of what they think. Just because your country is part of the WEIRD acronym it doesn’t mean the “entitled” boomer stereotype applies to everyone else in the world. My parents certainly had to struggle and grew up in a dictatorship.

Attention span is decreasing in younger folks-- that’s the broad consensus. Thanks to the Internet and granting instant gratification. That’s just a fact, so deal with it.

I agree that generalising generations can be stupid, but it is though environment don’t shape people and culture, huh?

TankovayaDiviziya,

It’s the Cold war, technology hasn’t been there yet.

TankovayaDiviziya,

This will not work on some, but it will work on some.

TankovayaDiviziya,

Not to mention Trump would be an even bigger supporter of Israel than Biden.

TankovayaDiviziya,

Unpopular opinion incoming:

You know when you were playing hide and seek, found the perfect hiding place, and you reject anyone else who tries to hide in that place?

DON’T TELL ANYONE ABOUT ADBLOCKERS!

Seriously, corpos will crack down hard. I mean, real hard on adblockers. This is an arms race that corporations have not yet realised because not enough people are using ad blockers. However, if more and more people are using it, then corporations will also be trying to catch up and that is something they will win because of greater resources.

This will be like with VPN; as many VPN IP addresses have been flagged and blocked as the service became more popular. And some of these VPNs have not updated the IP addresses making access to many websites nigh impossible or awkward-- unless you want to trawl through countless addresses. I’m afraid the same thing will happen with adblockers. This is something that open source adblockers could not easily win-- if they could win.

TankovayaDiviziya,

Maybe in the past it’s possible to live forever by renting, but that’s not the case anymore.

TankovayaDiviziya,

I wonder if it’s a spectrum. I am probably the same as you, but I am surprised when others mentioned about their inner monologue being constant-- many of which are negative-- and how to “turn it off” when it becomes too toxic. I have never really gotten negative inner monologues.

Nonetheless, the post made me think that this may explain why I am pretty forgetful. I don’t speak to myself to remember something in inner monologue/first person.

TankovayaDiviziya,

I think there is anti-Western psyops (I don’t want to say Russian or Chinese because who knows if either or both are doing it) going on with emphasising not to vote Biden and keep calling him “genocide Joe”, even though Trump is far more supportive of Israel in his last presidency. I have seen the rhetoric of genocide Joe and “left should not vote he him for supporting Israel” even in some seemingly centrist comments, which happens to be pro-Russia at the same time and those commenters are suspiciously new, or the account had aged out only to post months later after signing up. This is just too much of a coincidence.

If this is a Russian psyops, it is obvious why because Trump is ideologically (perhaps financially) aligned with Putin, and Trump being back into the White House will gut the aid to Ukraine. Trump himself said he will force Ukraine to accept the territorial losses from the invasion and threatened to pull US out of NATO.

Anyone who keeps saying not to vote for Biden because of his support for Israel is either psyops agent or fell into the propaganda, which in turn is only helping the disinformation propagandists.

TankovayaDiviziya,

You know, this makes me think why arranged/forced marriages were the norm in the past. Dating is hard by its nature even with today’s “convenience” of digital technology.

TankovayaDiviziya,

Oh no, I am talking about the Fallout TV series in general that I don’t mind the new lore additions and changes!

TankovayaDiviziya,

BoS has always been cultish but they’re not so much unlike what was portrayed in the show.

TankovayaDiviziya,

So you tolerate rules that are not only nonsensical, but also makes everyone’s lives harder? And that everyone should put up with it simply because they’re rules no matter how arbitrary? Segregation between black and white people was also a rule, you know?

Moreover, nowhere did you and I mention Yahweh prevented any disobedience. In any case, your comment acknowledges that Yahweh allows disobedience but has the power to prevent it. So, either he is omniscient and could prevent future actions but does nothing, or he isn’t omniscient at all.

TankovayaDiviziya, (edited )

God could have punished Lot’s daughters though.

So let me get this straight, he punishes those who commit sins according to his own judgement, but some who commit sins are not punished? Does Yahweh have concrete rule he follows or not? Why do some get punished while others don’t? And why are some commandments just there-- like not allowing to eat the fruit of knowledge. Everyone like knowledge, right? What is so bad about knowledge that Yahweh does not want Adam and Eve to eat the fruit containing the knowledge? Which goes back to the point whether Yahweh is omniscient and yet does nothing, or he’s not omniscient at all. Or rather, he’s omniscient but tempts people into commiting so-called “sins” knowing the person will disobey, and then judge later on despite knowing what the person will do prior to doing it. Interesting. Sounds like this god is a mad scientist experimenting on people.

Edit: I forgot to address.

Also, don’t see what segregation has to do with it. God never instituted that.

No. But from the beginning you essentially posits to follow the rules no matter what-- that obeying god is akin to obeying a parent. And doing means one is good at obeying the law too. If god wants segregating other human beings according to race, would you follow it?

TankovayaDiviziya,

The difference is that the law comes from an infallible authority - the government, while God who created all things including morality is infallible.

So to you, god being infallible and orders segregation, you’d do it?

How do you know God didn’t punish Lot’s daughters? The argument from silence won’t cut it here.

Don’t throw stones into glasshouses. You are the one who clearly avoid questions. Will you approve of segregation if your god states it? And what is so bad with the fruit of knowledge? You still haven’t answered that rhetorical question because you probably know already the answer. Silence won’t cut here.

When you die, God judges you, and He judges you perfectly. The ones who don’t get punished aren’t simply waived away.

So those who weren’t punished are punished later. Sounds like selective justice.

It’s because their punishment has already been paid for by them through Jesus Christ’s suffering on the cross, Whom they repented to and embraced. And that offer is open to everyone, including you.

This is something that Christians could never explain. How does sacrificing your own flesh and blood (even early Christians argued whether or not Jesus is Yahweh’s own physical manifestation, or his own offspring, or both) cleanse the sins of the world? Even after Jesus died, people still carried on with their lives. And someone already explained, the accounts of Jesus were written 30 to 600 years of his claimed death. And in that time, dozens of books about Jesus and Christianity were written but the rest were discarded and cherry picked four or five books. If these books are all true then there is no reason for them not to be compiled at all together.

If your god is omnipotent and omniscient, why sacrifice a human being to cleanse the world of sins? An all-powerful god would just snap his finger and make all sins forgiven. But instead a human had to be sacrificed-- and his own flesh and blood at that. Why worship such a sadistic god? That being said, many scholars believe that Yahweh is a god of war from the pantheon of Levantine gods. Which explains the violent accounts. And that implies the true nature of monotheist dogma of Abrahamic religions. Reckon this is what the Bible means from withholding the fruit of knowledge?

TankovayaDiviziya,

If God ordered segregation, then in that case it wouldn’t be morally wrong. So yes, I’d do it.

The problem with the fruit of knowledge is that it gives us the ability to sin as we have the knowledge of what’s right and wrong. It’s not something that needs to be taught to us.

If one knows what is right and wrong then one would know what is sin. Ergo, one would avoid committing sin since the person knows the difference, yes? Then why does Yahweh denied such knowledge to people, but instead letting them constantly making sins micromanaging them? The last paragraph is key here because a benevolent god would not create and his/her subjects constantly committing egregious errors. Christians constantly states Yahweh gave human free will and thus. For there truly be free will, then Yahweh should grant humans knowledge to make choices, because one cannot have free will without being informed and thinking for themselves. Denying humans the ability to know does not make them possess “free will”, it makes them controlled.

Therefore, this reinforces the original position that religion is the surrender of agency and freethinking, leading to unquestionable obedience and submission to authority. Akin to supporting segregation, yes? Just because it’s the rules, would you agree? Those Germans who committed to murdering Jews were only following orders, yes?

Yahweh is a war/storm god out of the pantheon of other polytheistic Canaanite religions.1 2.
