Freshly baked @flatcar Container Linux images are now available in our cloud server image library 🥳

We're automatically importing the latest Stable, LTS and Beta releases and as with our other official Linux distro images, they’re provided unmodified from the upstream source – so you can be sure there are no hidden surprises and everything works as expected 🙂

Here in part 2 we create some systemd philosophers and see what they're contemplating. It's the first time we've had to clarify that fork meant the eating utensil and not the system call!

Solving the Dining Philosophers Problem with systemd: https://www.brightbox.com/blog/2024/01/11/solving-dining-philosophers-with-systemd-part-2/

And finally part 3, where we actually solve the Dining Philosophers Problem, using a variant of the Chandry/Misra "hygiene" solution. All with only UNIX, systemd and some bash scripting!

Our new simple metrics service is in beta: https://www.brightbox.com/blog/2023/09/26/simple-metrics-beta/

There’s no additional cost and you don’t need to do anything to enable these graphs.

We've got some exciting future plans on the roadmap for the metrics service, so stay tuned over the next few months.

Behind the scenes we're using Victoria Metrics, an unbelievably well written free software time series database!

We've rolled out Live Resizing for all Cloud Servers: https://www.brightbox.com/blog/2023/06/28/resize-cloud-servers/

The new RAM, CPU and storage allocations are "hot plugged" and are made available to the cloud server instantly and in most cases you won’t even need to reboot.
