So my wife cracked the screen of her Playdate console. I got a replacement memory LCD (Sharp LS027B7DH01A), but the LCD is mounted with optically clear adhesive directly to a piece of glass which is adhered around the edges to the console’s faceplate....
I might. I already emailed them for another project asking what model screen they were using, and they refused to share that info, so I don’t think they’re too open to hardware hobbyists.
The other project was adding a light. There is a vendor that offers a front-light for that model, but it’s like $60 and the result is too thick to fit in the stock Playdate.
I always got the feeling that this game was seen as a classic. I never owned a Gamecube growing up, but I’m pretty sure I remember my friend having one and playing Sunshine a bit (although he was way more into Zelda and Smash)....
Never beat it as a kid, finally 100%ed it when 3D all stars came out.
Honestly? If feels very rushed. Elements like Yoshi are hardly used, the final boss stage is short and finicky, the pachinko machine is 100% broken, and the blue coin collection is needlessly difficult and unrewarding.
I think when I first played it I was blown away by how good it looked, but playing as an adult, I’m more just disappointed in how messy and unrefined it can be at times.
I was once motivated to work out by Amizon Subscribe and Save.
I had a subscription to protein shake powder, and I only let myself drink it after working out. If I skipped too many days, I’d still have some when the next shipment arrived, and I hate wasting food.
I worked in wearable electronics back in 2013. At the time, everyone was trying to crack wristworn heart rate monitors. It’s a challenging problem to solve: having to detect a faint color change in human skin while ignoring the massive shifts in ambient light from sunlight to shade all while bouncing around on a wrist.
Different vendors had different solutions and couldn’t even agree on what color LED was best for illuminating the skin.
Anyway, when the next generation of Nike Fuelband came out and didn’t include heart rate monitoring, I’ll never forget one of the comments I saw on a review.
“Come on Nike, it’s not hard to add a heart rate monitor. Just use pulse tracking.”
It’s quicker

Any thoughts for custom-sizing a thin glass sheet to protect an LCD screen?
