You’ll still see ads through. If not targeted and even not served by meta, a lot of the content shared by users on the platform is actually ads.

But I agree, the price is ridiculous

I’d pay a reasonable price. I’d even use it for not personalised ads.

Instead I uninstalled all platforms from meta and will only be using it on my PC periodically and in a private tab.

It is actually a hard paywall. They won’t let you use the app unless you make a choice between the two. I chose to uninstall

I doubt it. But I believe that they have figured out exactly what ammount people will be less willing to pay .

Besides that, they won’t stop tracking and storing your data. They simply won’t use it show targeted ads.

Well personally I don’t mind them showing ads. I do want them to not spy on me to have them be targeted. It’s where I draw the line.

For me sure, but the people I communicate with, I doubt it. I have transitioned to Lemmy pretty easily from reddit. But Reddit was fairly annonimous. I feel more stuck to Facebook because the iRL people I know are there

But it’s not ads in general I personally am opposed. It’s the fact that they have removed the option to show untargeted ads. I personally don’t mind ads but now they force either parsonalized ads or subscription

It was not their livelihood that was at stake, but the potential for more profit

Thank you! I’ve already found a lot of exobion that I have never seen before but we also some interesting rings and planets.

Also I am surprised how fast you become credit blind outside the bubble! Inside the bubble I’d easily do a mission for 100.000 but out here, if it doesn’t pay more that 5mil it’s not really worth it

Many libraries in Denmark do stay open to 9pm. They even have tables and invite people to hang out there. Although I må not sure if you’re allowed to drink or eat there they do want you to just hang out. They have boardgames that you can borrow or play there and they even have boardgames nights where you can play against other guests. Some libraries even have gaming computers and playstation 5 with sofas and all. It’s pretty cool! Some of them also let you borrow things like baking forms, instruments, and tools!

Just a friendly advice from a stranger. I’d prioritize figuring out my priorities if I were you. You can’t have it all, and you’ll get burned trying to have it all. Pick what makes you happy and work towards that. Don’t burn out trying to please others, help others or make others rich, before you sort yourself out. What you’re in, is neither normal, healthy or even safe.
