hot take: running a nice 4k monitor at 5k is fine. you'll barely notice or care unless you spend all of your time leaning in and looking at single pixel lines.
i know @marcedwards would be horrified, but what you do in the privacy of your own home is your business 😈
this is the part that actually legitimately scares me, because it's all a mish-mash of various techniques and architectural decisions i've made over a decade, so none of it is actually build with this stuff in mind
