Say I define different contexts or workspaces. So in my address bar I can type work and it will open up 5 pages that will be associated to that keyword. Then I can type bored and it will open up my 4 defined pages associated to that keyword....
As a workaround until this is a feature people interested in that could install Firefox Klar and set it as a custom tab provider. It’s basically an incognito-only version of Firefox.
I know a lot of languages have some aspects that probably seem a bit strange to non-native speakers…in the case of gendered words is there a point other than “just the way its always been” that explains it a bit better?...
Holy smoke, thanks for taking the time to write this comment. I wasn’t aware there are practical implications of using gendered nouns. Learned something new today.
I would assume people would capitalize their titles in posts since that’s the standard pretty much anywhere else like on YouTube or news sites, and that’s what you learn to do in school. Why is it only different on forum platforms like Lemmy or Reddit?
I am a regular Osmand user, but I don’t know much about how OSM works in detail. I noticed that in some services that use OSM, addresses appear like in this screenshot....
I have to add that the example shown in the screenshot is a random location so I’m not familiar with that village.
But that highlighted portion is not part of the postal address. And it’s not listed under enclosing features (so no Verwaltungsgrenze, Bezirksgrenze or similar).
I agree it seems to be something historical but I see it in lots of locations and I think it’s odd to include historic names in the address query by default, isn’t it?

As a non-native speaker I encounter this phrase from time to time (in podcasts and such) and I’d like to understand the use (beside the literal meaning which is obvious)....
Thanks for your insightful comments everyone, really enjoying the discussion and it’s interesting to see how different a 5-word phrase can come across.
I think it can seem rude sometimes to unexpectedly alter the course of a conversation by expecting a tangential conversation.
I hadn’t even thought about that, but that might partially explain why I perceive the sentence as rude. From my own conversations, I’m more used to people “working through” the actual topic and possibly asking about the background afterwards.
